October 22, 2009 03:10:42There will be a new TV spot for "Fringe" airing on Thursday, October 22 night during Game 5 of American League Championship Series. The interesting part is, it utilizes a song by Nine Inch Nails which has been altered by the frontman Trent Reznor to fit the supernatural show.
"Zero Sum", one of the tracks in the band's 2007 album "Year Zero", has been mashed with a dialogue by William Bell, the character played by Leonard Nimoy. Furthermore, if one plays the song in a computer, he or she will be able to find a familiar glyph from the show on the sound waves.
Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails Gets Hitched
October 19, 2009 02:10:13Trent Reznor of rock band Nine Inch Nails is now a married man. The music star wed his fiancee Mariqueen Maandig in a ceremony held on Saturday, October 17. It was Trent's bandmate Danny Lohner who shared the wedding news with public, tweeting "Goths the world over will mourn this day - off to a wedding".
In addition to the short message, Danny also tweeted a picture of the newlyweds. The picture showed Trent and his bride Mariqueen dancing together with the caption "Congrats!" Famed photographer Robert Evans, who shot Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding, as well as that of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, photographed the ceremony, E! News reports.

Nine Inch Nails Plan Temporary Timeout After World Tour
February 17, 2009 03:02:34Rock band Nine Inch Nails will temporarily withdraw from music industry after their upcoming tour is wrapped up, so frontman Trent Reznor confirms. Plotting to hit the road with Jane's Addiction, they promise to bring "much more raw, spontaneous and less scripted" gigs.
"In NIN world, 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of our first releases. I've been thinking for some time now it's time to make NIN disappear for a while," Reznor writes on the band's official website. "Last year's 'Lights in the Sky' tour was something I'm quite proud of and seems like the culmination of what I could pull off in terms of an elaborate production."
Josh Freese to Resign From Nine Inch Nails

"Josh Freese fans, be sure to check out a show on the upcoming North American leg of the tour, as sadly they will be the last ones he's playing with us. He informed me he's leaving the tour at the end of this year," he says.
Speaking further about their future relationship after the break-up, Trent convinces that they will still be friends. "Yes, we are still dear friends. No, I'm not sure what we are going to do," he explains in a statement.
Nine Inch Nails Bring in Robin Finck for Summer Tour

Finck played for the rock band in mid '90s before joining Guns N' Roses in 1996 as Slash's replacement until early 2000s and contributing work on the Axl Rose-fronted band's long-delayed album "Chinese Democracy".
This would be the second time Finck rejoins Nine Inch Nails for he had a brief reunion with the band in 1999 and 2000. This time they will travel in a 24 dates trek that begins July 25 at Pemberton Festival, British Columbia and ends September 6 in Inglewood, CA. The band will also bring along new bassist Rich Fownes who also serves similar duty for UNKLE.
2008 Lollapalooza Festival Line-Up Leaked Out!

Among those who are tapped as the main attractions this year include Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine and Radiohead.
This year, the music event will take place at Chicago's Grant Park over a three-day course weekend starting from August 1. A report on Chicago Sun-Times also cited an industry insider confirming the appearances of The Raconteurs, Bloc Party, Wilco, Battles, Stephen Malkmus, Girl Talk, Cat Power, The Black Keys, Broken Social Scene and Mates of State.

Nine Inch Nails Ask Fans to Create Videos for 'Ghost'
March 18, 2008 11:03:50Following the indie release of their latest album "Ghosts I - IV", Nine Inch Nails are also taking new approaches for its promotional campaign. The band fronted by Trent Reznor are asking fans to contribute videos for the tracks in the instrumental album.
In a collaboration with YouTube, Reznor announced that fans can enter the competition which winning video will air on the video-sharing site. Reznor and his team will personally select the winning clip.
"The concept is for you to take whatever tracks you feel inspired by from Ghosts... and create what you feel should accompany them visually," Reznor announced.
Jay-Z Headlines 1st Pemberton Fest With NIN and Coldplay

Among the numerous acts on the bill Jay-Z, Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails, Serj Tankian and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are announced as the headliners.
According to Billboard.com, the festival is part of Live Nation's production with Good Boy Productions. The latter is the joint venture between Coldplay manager Dave Holmes and Depeche Mode manager Jonathan Kessler. There will be two stages set up to contain more than 50 acts plus a dance stage.

Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor has hinted a change in his band's formation. The frontman may split up with his live band which currently is comprised of Josh Freese on drum, Aaron North on guitar, Jeordie White on bass and Alessandro Cortini on keyboard.
"At this point, I want to switch things around a bit," Reznor said. "I see other ways I can present Nine Inch Nails' material in concert. Something more challenging, something new. I don't want it to go stale. The idea of five guys making music for two hours, while it's the culmination of fine-tuning over a lot of years, has got to change. I want to whittle things down."
Korn Selecting Songs to Cover for New Album

A new direction to Korn's highly anticipated album has been unveiled. The nu metal band may have a set of songs that are fully covers for the untitled album that is arriving July 31 via Virgin.
Frontman Jonathan Davis told Billboard, "We've already done, like, 'Love My Way' from Psychedelic Furs. We've done 'We Care a Lot' from Faith No More [and Nine Inch Nails'] 'Head Like a Hole.' Those are already recorded. We just gotta get in and do some more."
Nine Inch Nails Counteracts Piracy of "Year Zero"

Tired of the piracy acted upon their latest album "Year Zero", Nine Inch Nails made the tracks available in the band's website. This act is triggered by the two recent leaks of the album within a week.
On April 1, a low quality recording of the album went out on a number of peer-to-peer networks. Three days later, a better quality, presumably the promotional disc surfaced in other sites. Trent Reznor finally took action by commissioning Chicago's Q101 to circulate the entire tracks on the radio station.
Headliners in the 2007 Reading and Leeds Festival

The 2007 Reading and Leeds Festival has recruited a new string of bands to perform in the event this summer. The headliners are the multiple Grammy award winning Red Hot Chili Peppers, the newly reunited rock band The Smashing Pumpkins and also half-English half-Swedish Indie pop band Razorlight.
The annual event which is also popular as Carling Weekend, will begin on August 24. The event's official website also informs that Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Fall Out Boy, Bloc Party and Nine Inch Nails are among some of the bands performing. These bands will have their gigs on the second round of the three-day weekend.
Nine Inch Nails Are Busy Readying Live DVD "Beside You in Time"

It's been a busy period for Nine Inch Nails as the alternative rock band is readying "Beside You in Time," a 19-track DVD chronicling their early 2006 "With Teeth" supporting tour.
The DVD, due February 27th next year via Interscope in the U.S., will be released in three formats: standard, high-definition, and Blu-Ray, with the latter two featuring "true high definition video audio," according to the band MySpace.
Pearl Jam & Tom Petty Extended Summer Run

Pearl Jam and Tom Petty have agreed to add Milwaukee dates to their summer run. The two music acts have set a June 29-30 stand in Milwaukee at Summerfest, an annual 11-day event also featuring Nine Inch Nails and Mary J. Blige among others.
As for members of Pearl Jam's Ten Club fan organization, they can get a special presale for the Marcus Amphitheater event beginning April 19th, 2006 at $203 for a pair of tickets for each night.

Just now, rock band ZZ Top has canceled two weekend concerts in Florida that include Friday's show at Centennial Park in Fort Myers and their appearance at Saturday's Biketoberfest at the new Destination Daytona complex in nearby Ormond Beach.
NIN to Play Voodoo Fest
October 18, 2005 02:10:31The Voodoo Music Experience, which previously scheduled to take place in New Orleans on October 29-30, has been moved to another city due to the Hurricane Katrina. Yet the show must go on and so it will be held on October 29 in New Orleans and the following night in Memphis.
Has been tapped to perform is Nine Inch Nails who will play both nights. Also confirmed to play in Memphis among others are Secret Machines, Cake, North Mississippi Allstars, New York Dolls, Carl Cox, Better Than Ezra, The Decemberists and HIM. Proceeds from the Voodoo Music Experience will benefit a host of Katrina-related charities, including the New Orleans Restoration Fund, Habitat for Humanity and Bring New Orleans Back.
New Drummer Joining Nine Inch Nails in Tour

Though, the ride seems incomplete with the absence of NIN regular drummer Jerome Dillon due to health concerns. Thus, the music group has tapped Australian Alex Carapetis to fill in during its ongoing fall tour.
NIN leader Trent Reznor wrote on the band's Web site "I can't begin to tell you what a difficult job it is to replace your drummer in this band, and these guys have truly risen to the high-pressure situation that it is." Following such decision, Carapetis already played his first show with Nine Inch Nails on Friday in Chicago.
NIN Chalenges Fans 'Only' Remix

Both tracks are taken from NIN's "With Teeth" (Nothing/Interscope) and commenting on this, Courtney Holt, Interscope Records head of new media and strategic marketing said "This has been a great avenue for Nine Inch Nails to connect with fans."
This time the song has been opened to both Mac and PC users by posting the track in Ableton Live, Digidesign Pro Tools LE and Sony Acid Xpress/Pro in addition to Garageband. In support, Interscope has partnered with MySpace.com to create an online community site for people to upload their remixes, vote for their favorites and comment about their experiences in a blog. What's important is that opening the download file requires agreeing to a license that preserves all of the original rights.
MTV Loses Nine Inch Nails
May 30, 2005 09:05:19MTV must be upset in hearing that rock band Nine Inch Nails have on Friday said they canceled plans to perform on next week's MTV Movie Awards. The band has, at first, set as a performance backdrop at the event, singing their latest hit single "The Hand That Feeds."
Yet, if MTV still wants them to perform, then the network should allow them to sing the song along with what the band claims as an unmolested image of George W. Bush as the backdrop. Apparently, MTV tend to percieve the use of the image as something offensive. Further the network explains that they had been "uncomfortable with their performance being built around a partisan political statement."
NIN' "With Teeth" Tops the Pop Charts

Nine Inch Nails to Perform at 2005 MTV Movie Award

On the 14th annual awards show, Nine Inch Nails will perform their single "The Hand That Feeds," and Eminem will perform his new single "Ass Like That."
