Gathering together to accompany Kevin Costner in the cast list, Dennis Hopper, Nathan Lane, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, George Lopez, and newcomer Madeline Carroll have all landed deals to take part in populist comedy "Swing Vote."
While Costner has been confirmed to play an apathetic working-class single dad thrust on the world stage when the presidential election comes down to his vote, Hopper and Grammer are reported to become the Democratic candidate and Republican incumbent with Lane and Tucci potraying their respective campaign managers. Lopez, in the meantime, is billed as the local TV station manager whose town is descended upon by the political machinery of both parties.
The Producers Want More Sensation
October 05, 2005 01:10:10It isn't "The Producers" who feel yet satisfied with the Broadway sensation it's brought years ago. The people behind are the one responsible for bringing back the classis movie to the big screen. Tony Award-winning director and choreographer of its original Broadway production, Susan Stroman, is in hand to direct.
The film, written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, will star such actors as Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman and Will Ferrell. Lane and Broderick are set to play Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, a scheming theatrical producer and his mousy CPA who hit upon the perfect plan to embezzle a fortune: raise far more money than they need to produce a sure-fire Broadway flop.
