Missy Higgins Featured on PETA's New Anti-Fur Ad
April 18, 2009 02:04:11Missy Higgins has become the latest public figure who lends her celebrity status to support People for the Ethical Treatments of Animal (PETA), appearing in the organization's latest anti fur ad. "The only difference between your 'best friend' and animals killed for their fur is how we treat them. All animals suffer and feel pain. Please don't wear any fur or fur trim," read the tagline that accompanies her ad shot.
Supporting PETA's causes, in fact, isn't something new for Missy Higgins. A few years back, she appeared in its pro-vegetarian ad. At that time she was photographed holding a pig with both of her hands.

The Australian singer-songwriter, best known for her hit singles "Scar" and "The Special Two" of her debut album "The Sound of White," has put an end to the much persistent speculation on her sexuality by telling lesbian magazine Cherrie that she is not straight and believes sexuality is a "fluid thing".

Missy Higgins has begun hosting her first Borders In-Store performances starting from yesterday (October 5) in New York City, N.Y. The Australian singer added this book store gigs after selling out her mini U.S. tour.
The singer who is a huge commodity in Australia, is set to conquer U.S. once again with her second album 'On a Clear Night' that was released in Australia on April 28 this year. In U.S., the album has been released digitally on October 2 while its physical CD will be distributed exclusively via Borders in January 2008.
