Mira Sorvino Gives Birth to Child No. 3 After Life-Threatening Complications
July 14, 2009 09:07:41After dealing with a difficult pregnancy and a long labor and delivery, Mira Sorvino has finally given birth to her third child with actor husband Christopher Backus. Born on June 22 in Los Angeles, the newborn baby, a boy, weighed in at 8 lbs., 12 oz. at time of birth and is named Holden Paul Terry Backus.
"After a difficult pregnancy involving potentially life-threatening complications to mother and child; the family are home, healthy and happy," a representative for Mira confirmed on Monday, July 13. Holden joins older sister Mattea Angel Backus and brother Johnny Christopher King. In a joint statement with husband Christopher, Mira said "We are overjoyed to bring our beautiful healthy son home to his brother and sister. We are blessed to have a home filled with so much love."

In a statement issued to US Weekly to confirm her third pregnancy, the actress opens up, "We are overjoyed at the thought of welcoming a new addition to the family. With each child, the love in our hearts has expanded beyond what we ever imagined was possible."
Aside from the confirmation, Mira doesn't spill the beans on how months along her pregnancy is. She also doesn't mention if she has found out the sex of her baby. Her due date hasn't been made public too.

On the project, Sorvino commented, "The day we penned the first five pages was so exciting." She then revealed that it was a project stating, "We'd been talking about it for years, but then one day we just hired a babysitter to take the kids to the museum and sat there and banged stuff out."

Five great talents have come onboard to bring highlight to ensemble drama "Multiple Sarcasms." Variety has reported that Timothy Hutton, Mira Sorvino, Dana Delany, Stockard Channing, and Mario Van Peebles are all set to star together in the $2.5 million project financed by Seattle-area investors.
Set in New York City circa 1979, the flick concerns a man stumbling through a series of midlife missteps who decides to write a play based on his relationships with the women in his life. However, just as the play becomes wildly successful, he unexpectedly finds his real life getting collapsed.

One more superb talent is heading toward "Reservation Road." The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino has given her nod to take a starring role in the project, which is one of the pictures being developed under Focus Features.
Joining the likes Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo, and Jennifer Connelly, Sorvino is billed to play the ex-wife of Ruffalo's character. The movie itself presents a story about two families who collide when the father of one kills the son of the other in a hit-and-run.
