Single "This Is Why I'm Hot" (2007)
Artist of the Week: MIMS
April 13, 2009 12:04:40After he reigned over Billboard Hot 100 in 2007 with "This Is Why I'm Hot" off debut album "Music Is My Savior" but failed to re-capture the same success with his next single, rapper MIMS is often considered as one-hit wonder. In a bid to prove that it is not true, he is back with another studio album "Guilt".
MIMS has just dropped the new record in U.S. on April 7. On the same day the album arrived in stores, he held a listening party taking place at Citrine, which is located in the heart of Chelsea, with DJ Shogun of Headshell Ltd. serving behind turntable.
Exclusive: MIMS Talking About New Album 'Guilt'
April 08, 2009 10:04:20Hot on the heels of his new album's release, MIMS exclusively shares to AceShowbiz about "a couple of records out of the album." Among the songs he thinks people should know are "One Day" and "Chasing Sunshine", both which are available to stream on his MySpace.
Speaking about "One Day" where he teams up with Bob Marley's son, Ky-Mani Marley, MIMS says, "The one you need to think about this record is I don't really consider it as Hip-Hop record. I just consider it as something that is appealing to the masses." He adds, "It's gonna be something that hits everybody."
2007 MTV Video Music Awards Nominees Here!
August 08, 2007 10:08:11
2007 MTV Video Music Awards nominees are in. On the terms of most count, the list has Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles who both own seven nods each while on the terms of today's big buzz, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse came quite unsurprising.
Although having a great chance to bring home a statuette this year, Timberlake and Knowles are facing tough competition this year mainly on the highest nomination in the award. Video of the Year put Timberlake's 'What Goes Around..." and Knowles' 'Irreplaceable' on the same level to Kanye West's 'Stronger', Rihanna's 'Umbrella', Winehouse's 'Rehab' and unexpectedly, French electronic duo Justice's 'D.A.N.C.E.'

March 16, 2007 04:03:00
The availability of Stacy Ferguson's "Glamorous" featuring rapper Ludacris for download sales has been on and off. In its ninth week, finally it gathers 166,000 digital sales and rightfully sits at the top position of Billboard Hot 100 chart. Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie has held the position twice and therefore is the only sixth solo female artist in 20 years to collect more than one #1 single from debut album.
With Fergie sitting on that position, it knocks out last week's three toppers to slip one places each. MIMS' "This Is Why I'm Hot" falls to #2, Akon's "Don't Matter" is down to #3 and Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape" featuring Akon falls 3-4.
