Mickey Rourke Under Spotlight on New 'Iron Man 2' Set Visit
September 30, 2009 09:09:17Entertainment Tonight (ET) has just brought forth another set visit video for "Iron Man 2". Focusing mainly on Mickey Rourke and his villainous character, Whiplash, the two minutes plus footage from the set of the highly anticipated "Iron Man" sequel features commentary from director Jon Favreau and fellow cast members, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
"Once we thought of him, we started developing the costume and the design of the character around him," Favreau told ET's Thea Andrews on the casting of Rourke. "His career got very busy as he was doing all the award season stuff and it took some time to make everything work out, but he was enthusiastic from our first meeting. And, I was so glad that it worked out. Now he's a very formidable adversary to Robert Downey Jr."
First Look at Mickey Rourke in 'The Expendables'

Empire Online has got a hold of the picture, exposing Rourke's Tool inking the skull and raven tattoo on the back of Sylvester Stallone's Barney Ross.

Each of the photos features an individual character from the film in action. One sees Jason Statham's Lee Christmas looking out of what seems to be a chopper's window, another one captures Jet Li's Bao lifting up his gun inside a car, and the last one displays Eric Roberts' Monroe taking a girl as a hostage.
First Look: Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in 'Iron Man 2'
June 10, 2009 09:06:27The first ever image of Mickey Rourke as Iron Man's foe in "Iron Man 2" has arrived. Put out by USA Today, the photo showcases Whiplash wearing his armor suit which is equipped with a power pack on his chest that looks similar to the one that Iron Man uses. In the picture, the villain whose alter ego is known as Ivan Vanko is making an appearance at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix.
Accompanying the new photo, USA Today has included an interview with director Jon Favreau about the baddie's suit. Of the similarities between Whiplash's suit with Iron Man's, the filmmaker said, "The technologies are definitely related. That's part of the core theme of the film." He also mentioned that Whiplash "has constructed his own version of a suit", adding a pair of whips to the suit.

In an interview with Empire Online, the Academy Award-nominated actor firstly gushed on his thought on joining the superhero franchise, saying "I'm having the time of my life!"
As for the challenges of portraying the villainous character, the star of "The Wrestler" shared, "It's been really brutal, because my Iron Man suit weighs 23lb." Getting deeper in the armor discussion, he detailed, "It's sort of a half-suit, with half my skin showing, with lots of Russian tattoos, because [Whiplash is just] out of a Russian-zone prison."

Apparently, nearly 15,000 film fans voted the action flick, tentatively titled "Batman Begins," as the Favorite Movie of 2005. Securing the top spot of the poll held by Total Film magazine, 'Batman' beats the like of "Sin City" and "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." The magazine's deputy editor claims 'Batman' as "a smart but funny reinvention" and "excellently directed."
Other award went to actor Mickey Rourke who was voted Man of the Year for his portrayal in cult movie "Sin City." In the meantime, Ian McDiarmid, who played Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in 'Revenge of the Sith,' has been named Best Movie Villain.
