Matchbox 20 Axed Cheyenne Concert for Animal Concern
April 14, 2008 11:04:34Animal rights come as a priority for Matchbox 20. The rock band, which is fronted by Rob Thomas, has canceled a concert at Cheyenne Frontier Days, Wyoming which is scheduled for July 18 after realizing that making a performance at the rodeo venue will contradict Thomas' mission statement.
Thomas' bandmates are pro to his decision and issued a statement on the band's official site. They said, "Regrettably, Matchbox Twenty will not be able to perform at Cheyenne Frontier Days on July, 18th. After careful consideration, it was decided that participating in this event would directly contradict the mission statement of SIDEWALK ANGELS FOUNDATION, our non profit organization."
Joint Tour: Matchbox 20, Alanis Morissette and Mute Math
November 13, 2007 10:11:35After four years of absence from touring, Matchbox 20 are back down the road with not only one but two great acts to accompany them. Alanis Morissette and rock band Mute Math will tag along the 33-date trek as the Rob Thomas-fronted band's opening acts.
The jaunt will begin January 25 at Hollywood's Hard Rock Live and wind down March 18 at Las Vegas' Pearl Theater. One highlighted event is the Valentine's Day that happen to stop at New York's Madison Square Garden on February 14.

The music video of Matchbox 20's 'How Far We've Come' has met its premiere on September 6. The up-beat song itself was released digitally on September 4.
'How Far We've Come' is the lead track of the band's greatest hits compilation 'Exile on Mainstream' that is due October 2. The double CD will contain their previous hits like 'Bent', 'Push', 'Unwell' and 6 new materials that they have recorded with producer Steve Lillywhite in Los Angeles.
Matchbox 20 Debuting New Upbeat Single

Matchbox 20 has returned with a new single called "How Far We've Come". The song was premiered on the band's MySpace page and will be the first single pulled out of their greatest hits compilation.
The new tune is born out of the band members' songwriting minus guitarist Adam Gaynor who quit in early 2005. It would be one out of four new materials that will be included in the band's greatest hits CD called "Exile on Mainstream", their first in 5 years after 2002's "More Than You Think You Are"

The destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina has left many people devastated. Though so the disaster has taught many human being about the so-called "solidarity, caring, and love for others".
Bingo. That's what Rob Thomas and his band Matchbox 20 has learnt. Thus, both parties have donated $200,000 to raise money for, among other things, restoring music education programs in areas affected by the hurricane.
Matchbox 20 Preparing A New Studio Album
December 21, 2005 01:12:32Two years break is more than enough for music group Matchbox 20 to come back into music industry with their new material or at least new idea. Having the things in head, all the group members planning for a December 30-January 1 reunion at the Joint in Las Vegas.
Soon then, as said by guitarist Kyle Cook, Matchbox 20 will comeback to the studio to record a new album. Asked about the involvement of the group's lead singer Rob Thomas who has gone solo, Cook simply replied "Vegas, cash, New Year's Eve and booze, all in that order."
