The fans of the late Marlon Brando should cross their fingers that the postponed Brando's screenplay can finally start the production. The plan was actually set as the mark for the legend's return to the silver screen, but was then a totally delay due to the returning star's death back in July 2004.

After since, the planned "Brando and Brando" remained as a "closed-case" for the Tunisian director, Ridha Behi, who actually aimed in making the movie as his English-language debut.

Generated $45m for his estate this year through royalties, it's the fifth consecutive year that Elvis has topped the list, beating Peanuts cartoonist Charles Schulz in 2nd with $35m.

Premiere magazine has listed The Top 100 Film Characters Ever, which first position is secured by the one of Marlon Brando's Vito Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's classic "The Godfather." In 2nd place on the list is Humphrey Bogart's Fred C. Dobbs in the 1948 movie "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre." Vivien Leigh's Scarlett O'Hara from "Gone with the Wind" is the highest placed female character in third place.

Elsewhere, Anthony Perkins' role as Norman Bates in the 1960 "Psycho" is in 4th place, followed by 's original James Bond in "Dr. No" in 5th place. From 6 to 10 in sequence are 's Annie Hall - "Annie Hall" (1977); 's Indiana Jones - "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981); 's Ellen Ripley - "Alien" (1979); 's Jeff Spicoli - "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (1982); and ' Gollum - "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy (2001).

"The Godfather" Costly Script

It maybe the most expensive auction ever. Yes it could be, as movie legend Marlon Brando's personal script from the 1972 movie "The Godfather" sold for a staggering $312,800 at a New York auction on Thursday, becoming the highest ever paid for a film manuscript.

The high-profile auction at Christie's also included Mario Puzo's letter asking Brando to play gangster Don Corleone in the film, which has been sold for $132,000. Also there was the actor telegram to , which sold for $36,000, while a photograph of the film icon and actress Rita Moreno in the 1968 movie "The Night Of The Following Day" fetched $48,000.

Marlon Brando Items to Be Auctioned

More than 250 items belong to the legendary actor Marlon Brando, including his annotated script from 1972's "The Godfather" and a letter from the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., will be put up for bid by Brando's estate on June 30, 2005. Other items include a letter from Mario Puzo and many relate to Brando's interest in American Indians, like a gift of artifacts from Val Kilmer, his co-star in 1996's "The Island of Dr. Moreau."

Also put in the auction is Brando's Oscar nomination certificate for "On the Waterfront" and the black velvet tunic he wore in "Superman" in 1978. The rest of the items are more personal, including numerous musical instruments, boxing gloves and his foosball table. All of those items are removed from Brando's Los Angeles home, where he had lived since 1960. The collection will be open to public viewing on June 24-29 at Christie's in New York and June 7-10 at the auction house's Los Angeles gallery.

Brando Sued by Former Business Manager

Marlon Brando has been sued by his former manager, Jo An Corrales, for sexual harassment and wrongful termination. By means of which, Corrales claims that she was subjected to a hostile work environment and that Brando exposed his genitals, touched her inappropriately and insisted her to watch porn films with him.

Actually Corrales had filed a precursor lawsuit in December, seeking $3.5 million, but was rejected by Brando's trustees. Thus, she came to her next lawsuit filed on Monday March 3, 2005, demanding 10 per cent of the $5 million in residuals that she claims Brando received during the time of her three-year employment, which ended in 2004.
