The world of music entertainment is mourning. Luciano Pavarotti has died.
The opera star and the world's most beloved tenors died Thursday morning September 6th at 5 a.m. local time, at his home in Modena, Italy, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71.

Opera superstar Luciano Pavarotti won't attend this week's Bergamo festival in Italy, it has been confirmed.
Pavarotti actually was expected to attend the Bergamo music festival Wednesday Dec 6th to accept the prestigious Donizetti prize, given in recognition of his interpretations of the opera composer's works throughout the world.
Back Surgery Forced Luciano Pavarotti to Postpone Farewell Tour

Opera star Luciano Pavarotti has been forced to postpone five concerts on his worldwide farewell tour, "Pavarotti Worldwide Farewell Tour", because of complications from back surgery.
Four performances in the Canadian cities of Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto, and in Washington in the US have been delayed until October.

Tenor Luciano Pavarotti has to unfortunately postpone his upcoming concert in Brazil because of a painful back, so his publicist, Terri Robinson, confirmed.
The Italian star was on Tuesday night March 14th, 2006 taken to a hospital in New York. He was actually slated to sing concerts scheduled next month in Europe, including appearances in Zurich, Switzerland; Helsinki, Finland; and Oslo, Norway; and in June in the Canadian cities of Toronto, Montreal and Calgary, and one U.S. appearance in Washington.
Pavarotti Cancels Performance
April 16, 2005 11:04:00Luciano Pavarotti has cancelled one performance and rescheduled three others on his "Farewell Tour," which includes 40 performances in venues across the world, because of a medical procedure planned for June this year. His manager explained Friday that the medical procedure is a follow-up to a March 9 operation when Pavarotti underwent successful neck surgery to repair two vertebrae.
Moreover, the manager explained Pavarotti has unfortunately had to call off a June 22 performance in Toledo, Spain, because no alternative date was available to reschedule it, while two dates in Britain and one in Nimes, France, are being rescheduled later. Upcoming concerts include one in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on Saturday, and another in Prague, Czech Republic, on Wednesday. In addition, Pavarotti is also due to perform a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 24, and a final gala concert in New York next year.
Pavarotti Back to Italy
March 23, 2005 11:03:53Pavarotti plans to return home to Italy this weekend and resuming his farewell tour after having a neck surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital on March 9, 2005 to repair two vertebrae. The 69-year-old tenor spokesperson Terri Robson says everything works well as Pavarotti has soon recovered and currently rehearsing with his conductor, Leone Magiera, every day.
And now he's been at his New York apartment with his wife, Nicoletta, and daughter, Alice. Next Pavarotti is scheduled to continue his tour with a concert on April 2, 2005 in Johannesburg, South Africa, which soon followed by shows in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (April 7); Kiev, Ukraine (April 13); Rotterdam, Netherlands (April 16); and Prague, Czech Republic (April 20).
