Taylor Swift to Duet With T-Pain at 2009 CMT Music Awards
June 11, 2009 11:06:24Country music singer Taylor Swift is set to make a collaboration with rapper T-Pain during the gala ceremony of 2009 CMT Awards. They have done a rehearsal for their forthcoming performance in Nashville, Tennessee on June 9.
There hasn't been any word on what song they will sing at the annual event though. But, fans can take a sneak peek on their rehearsal session through pictures posted on Celebrity Mania.
Miley Cyrus and Others Tapped to Sing at 2009 ACM Awards
March 27, 2009 09:03:00Miley Cyrus has been appointed as one of the performers at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards. The pop singer is scheduled to sing "The Climb", the soundtrack of her upcoming movie "Hannah Montana: The Movie", at the event to be held on April 5.
Other musicians set to make live appearances at the annual awards include Reba McEntire, Lady Antebellum, John Rich, Lee Ann Womack and Jamey Johnson. They will join previously-announced musical guests such as Taylor Swift, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Heidi Newfield, Trace Adkins and Tim McGraw.

February 12, 2009 11:02:15The nominees for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards have been revealed during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on February 11. Announced by Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes and Jessica Simpson, it was revealed that Brad Paisley and Heidi Newfield both led the pack with six and four counts respectively.
Brad and Heidi were up against each other in Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. For the three categories, they were joined by such contenders as Miranda Lambert, Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson and Carrie Underwood among others.
Lee Ann Womack Secured A Temporary Protective Order

Country singer Lee Ann Womack can now sing along the way without feeling afraid. The star has successfully secured a temporary protective order to keep away a man she claims was stalking her.
In the petition she filed last week in Chatham County Superior Court, Womack pointed a 36-year-old Georgia resident Mark Borer to have been stalking her for the last year, sending her "various disturbing and harassing" letters and that he appeared at her parents' home in Jacksonville, Texas, in November 2005, while she was visiting.

The nominees of the 41st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards have been announced early Wednesday morning March 8th, 2006 and among the long lines there is Brad Paisley who receives a leading six nominations, including nods for Single, Song, and Male Vocalist of the Year. Duo Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland each receives 5 nods.
Announced the nominees Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood also are among the most honored artists with four nominations apiece. Some other artists vie for the prestigious award are Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Gary Allan, Lee Ann Womack and many more.

Among them there were LeAnn Rimes, Lindsay Lohan, Lee Ann Womack, Christina Milian, Deborah Harry, Eartha Kitt, Elaine Stritch, Thalia, Amerie, Natasha Bedingfield and Black Eyed Peas' Fergie.
Also spotted made an appearance during the charity fashion show was rocker Sheryl Crow who has just ended her five months engagement to cycling legend Lance Armstrong days before. All of them down the catwalk in sexy red outfits, created by top designers including Zac Posen, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.

All dressed in red outfit created by top designers: Rimes appeared in Zac Posen's spaghetti-strap gown with a tightly pleated bust and high-front slit, Crow in a scarf-style halter dress by Ralph Lauren while Milian in a flowing gown with jeweled straps by Max Azria Atelier. Meanwhile, Lohan, who made the peace sign at photographers as she reached the end of the runway, modeled a long-sleeve Calvin Klein gown with a V-front, followed by Womack in a strapless gown with gathering and satin strips on the bodice by Carmen Marc Valvo.
Lee Ann Womack Dominates the 39th CMA
November 16, 2005 04:11:18Two thumbs up for Lee Ann Womack for she satisfyingly topped the 39th Annual CMA Awards with three awards all at once. All the event attendances witnessing the singer's victory, brought home the awards for Album of the Year for "There's More Where That Came From," Single of the Year for "I May Hate Myself in the Morning," and Musical Event of the Year for "Good News, Bad News," a duet with George Strait.
Meanwhile, Australian-born singer Keith Urban only won two, which were Male Vocalist of the Year for a second year in a row and Entertainer of the Year. Other winners at the event, held Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, among others were; Bill Anderson / Jon Randall for Song of the Year for "Whiskey Lullaby," sung by Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley; Gretchen Wilson won Female Vocalist; and Rascal Flatts won Vocal Group of the Year for the third year straight.

November 03, 2005 09:11:41Slated to perform at The 39th Annual CMA Awards held on November 15, veteran musician Elton John will not hum the tune of "Turn the Lights Out When You Leave" alone as Dolly Parton is going to join him on the stage. The song was previously featured in John's album entitled "Peachtree Road" which came up last year and was composed by himself along with his writing partner, Bernie Taupin.
"I've always admired Sir Elton's songwriting, musicianship and singing and I'm thrilled to be working with him," Parton said as quoted by Country Music Association. "It should be a very passionate performance."
