Kelis' New Song 'Acapella' Arrives
November 24, 2009 11:11:31Kelis has revealed one of her brand new materials. In the song titled "Acapella", the singer who gave birth to her first son in June this year delivers lines "Before you, my whole life was acapella / Now a symphony is the only song to sing."
Coming from production hands of David Guetta, "Acapella" is Kelis' first song since parting ways with Jive Records in 2007. Now, she has signed a record deal with Interscope and is working on a new album which is yet to be titled.
Kelis and Nas Reportedly Reconcile
September 17, 2009 04:09:34Estranged couple, Kelis and Nas, has sparked rumors of them reconciling after they were said being spotted together at Marquee Club in New York City on Monday night, September 14. They "were celebrating his birthday with some friends and you couldn't tell they were divorcing to look at them. They seemed very intimate and were kissing and hugging and even left together," a source testified.
No direct comment has been heard just yet from both Kelis and Nas regarding the credibility of the story. The pair, who tied the knot in January 2005, is currently undergoing divorce proceedings. She filed for divorce from him in late April this year while still pregnant with their first child.

I don't understand when women say they don't remember giving birth." She went on writing, "I will remember for the rest of my life. He's kinda perfect btw :)".
Kelis was forced to skip a scheduled court appearance in her divorce case with estranged husband Nas when she was in labor on Tuesday, July 21. Nas, who was confirmed to be rushing to the hospital for the birth of the baby, has shared with fans his joy of welcoming his first child with Kelis. He announced in an online video recorded by Video Music Box, "My son is born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight".

In an online video recorded by Video Music Box Tuesday, July 21, the hip-hop performer announced, "My son is born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight".
On the same video clip, which was taken at a neighborhood party at the rapper's native Queensbridge Housing Projects, Nas was seen taking the stage to perform. He again took time to sound off his newborn son while at the same time also urged fans to avoid believing false media reports concerning his personal life.

Her estranged husband Nas is in New York City for the birth of the baby and has been "rushing to the hospital to be with her," his representative has confirmed. The baby will be the first for Kelis and the second one for Nas. He has one daughter, named Destiny, from a previous relationship.
Kelis and Nas had been married for more than four years when they announced their separation earlier this year. She filed for divorce from him in late April, just one month after Nas publicly confirmed that he and Kelis are expecting their first child, a baby boy. Citing irreconcilable differences in her divorce papers, Kelis seeks spousal support and child support in addition to seeking the joint legal and physical custody of their not-yet-born son.

Soon after report of the couple's split was covered by the media, Laura issued a public statement, saying "I can confirm that she has filed for divorce. We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time." In the meantime, there hasn't been any single statement made by Nas or his people regarding Kelis' divorce petition.

Nas further told MTV that he and Kelis will find out the sex of their forthcoming baby next week. Nas, however, didn't reveal Kelis' due date.

"It was a case of being in the ever-shrinking world of the record industry and finding herself on a label she wasn't signed to and without a champion," said Kelis' manager, Jeff Rabhan. "She's a different kind of artist - very image and style-driven. It's either something you get or you don't."

The US album charts for the week ended Sunday August 27th saw the prominence of the MTV-constructed band, Danity Kane, as the music act topped the top spot with their album "Danity Kane" sold 234,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. In the meantime, OutKast's "Idlewild" opened at No. 2 with the LaFace release sold 196,000 units.
With the emerge of the new chart-toppers, reigning champ Christina Aguilera's RCA album "Back to Basics" fell to the 3rd spot with 135,000, ahead of Mexican rock group Mana's "Amar Es Combatir" at No. 4 sold 87,000 copies. With such attainment, the Mexican rock group indeed scored the highest charting and biggest debut for a Spanish-language album for a duo or group on The Billboard 200.
