Kelis to Release Her First Greatest Hits
February 21, 2008 02:02:53Four studio albums and several charting singles after, Kelis is ready to drop her greatest hits compilation. The R'n'B singer will release her first Greatest Hits package which will be titled "The Hits" on March 11, 2008.
It will consist of 14 tracks including her biggest hit to date, "Milkshake". The wife of rapper Nas have selected other singles from her four albums that mark her career staring from 1999 to 2006. Among others are, "Lil Star", "Bossy" and "In Public".
R 'n' B Singer Kelis Dropped From Jive Records
October 29, 2007 09:10:44Kelis is dropped from Jive Records, Entertainment Weekly reported. The R 'n' B singer who was confirmed working on a new album is said to part ways from the label due to poor sales of her last effort, 'Kelis Was Here'.
"It was a case of being in the ever-shrinking world of the record industry and finding herself on a label she wasn't signed to and without a champion," said Kelis' manager, Jeff Rabhan. "She's a different kind of artist - very image and style-driven. It's either something you get or you don't."

The singer-songwriter is just one among the many celebrity hotties taken it all off for the photo-book, which among others include actresses Gabrielle Union, Erika Christensen and model/actress Devon Aoki.

For two weeks in a row, Take That's "Shine" holds the position of #1 in UK singles chart. At the same time the band's second single "Patience" is still holding on its right in Top 40 at No. 20, while the album "Beautiful World" also reigns #3 in UK album chart.
Following behind "Shine" is Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape" featuring Akon. In its seventh week, it sat at #3 last week. Kaiser Chiefs' "Ruby" that falls 2-3 this week then fills in the spot. Triggered by the release of CD single version last week, Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around Comes Around" moves up 10-4 this week.

The US album charts for the week ended Sunday August 27th saw the prominence of the MTV-constructed band, Danity Kane, as the music act topped the top spot with their album "Danity Kane" sold 234,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. In the meantime, OutKast's "Idlewild" opened at No. 2 with the LaFace release sold 196,000 units.
With the emerge of the new chart-toppers, reigning champ Christina Aguilera's RCA album "Back to Basics" fell to the 3rd spot with 135,000, ahead of Mexican rock group Mana's "Amar Es Combatir" at No. 4 sold 87,000 copies. With such attainment, the Mexican rock group indeed scored the highest charting and biggest debut for a Spanish-language album for a duo or group on The Billboard 200.
