Kate Nash Ditching Solo Career for a Band?
March 29, 2008 10:03:58While many members of a band pull out of the group to start a solo career, Kate Nash chose the other way round. The "Foundation" singer revealed that she is involved in a band project, taking the role of a drummer.
The British singer who usually plays piano talked to Daily Star, saying that she is excited to take over the new role. "I really like playing drums because you can get everything out," she said. "It's a really great thing to do - just beat it all out. To be able to achieve getting a rhythm is a real challenge."

British Singer Kate Nash Pens Children Book

The British songbird told NME.com she is working on a story for children based on a seven-foot transvestite named Roy, and that author Roald Dahl is an influence on the work.
Kate Nash's 'Made of Bricks' Gets U.S. Release
November 20, 2007 11:11:05British sensation Kate Nash has set a date for the U.S. release of her debut album, 'Made of Bricks'. The album that went to #1 in U.K. will be put in U.S. stores as of January 8 via Geffen.
In U.K, the album has spawned three singles, the first being 'Caroline's a Victim', followed by 'Foundation' and 'Mouthwash'. The second single was released as an EP in the States in September this year.

The prestigious Q Awards has handed its Breakthrough Artist to Kate Nash, the outspoken singer who triumphed through single 'Foundation'. The British event that took place at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday, October 8, also found Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue and Arctic Monkeys as big winners.
McCartney took the title Q Icon Award while thanking his Beatles bandmates and his late wife Linda McCartney on the acceptance speech. He said, "I would like to thank George, John and Ringo, the boys. I would like to thank Linda for seeing me though some real tough periods, and my beautiful family, my kids, who are fantastic."

Still on the heels of 'Foundations' success, British new sensation Kate Nash is gearing up the release of second single from her debut album, 'Made of Bricks'. Like its predecessor, 'Mouthwash' speaks honest writing and bold lyrics that have become the signature of Kate.
Kate chose a topic as simple as waking up in the morning, checking face on the mirror "This is my face/ Covered in freckles with an occasional spot and some veins", and doing routines "I use mouthwash/Sometimes I floss/ I got a family/ And I drink lots of tea".
Timbaland Shoved Rihanna in U.K. Chart

In a chart war that has been dominated by Rihanna, Timbaland and Kate Nash in the top three positions, uber-producer Timbaland has claimed the first place. U.K. Singles chart this week has knocked down Rihanna's "Umbrella" from its ten week-reign to not only the runner up position but straight to the third.
Interestingly enough, the top three seems to have battled among themselves since most of those under them staying intact in their position. Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry", Enrique Iglesias' "Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)", The Hossiers' "Worried About Ray" and Avril Lavigne's "When You're Gone" retain their last week post at no 4 to 7 respectively.

Up and coming Kate Nash has found a name for her debut album. The record will be distributed via Fiction Records under the name "Made of Bricks".
On the meaning of the title, a rep of Kate said, "The title represents her strong connection with her family. She felt that everyone around her was like family while she made this album."

Although Rihanna's "Umbrella" has descended U.S. chart in the tenth week, the Jay-Z featuring hit still has its say in U.K. Singles chart. The song enters its tenth week at #1, making itself the longest running Number One single in ten years at the top of the U.K. chart.
With such record, Rihanna joins Whitney Houston and Bryan Adams in the list of singers with #1 hit that stays more than nine weeks. Houston's "I Will Always Love You" remained seated at the top post for ten weeks in 1992 while Adam's "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" claimed 16 weeks victory one year prior.
