Black Carpet Marks Star-Studded L.A. Premiere of 'Star Trek'
May 01, 2009 03:05:28Proving that "Star Trek" is one of the highly anticipated summer movies this year, the Los Angeles premiere for the sci-fi film has been flooded with many Hollywood stars. Big screen actors, small screen stars and TV personalities were all spotted walking down the black carpet that was rolled down in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Thursday, April 30.
Unlike its world premiere in Sydney that was attended by several of its cast members, this Los Angeles screening saw many of the film's stars. Chris Pine, Eric Bana, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, John Cho, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and Winona Ryder were only a handful of the cast ensemble seen attending the premiere.
'Star Trek' Beaming Down in Sydney for World Premiere
April 07, 2009 04:04:34A world premiere gala for the highly anticipated "Star Trek" has been held by Paramount Pictures in Sydney, Australia. Taking place at Sydney Opera House's legendary Concert Hall Tuesday, April 7, the special screening event has been attended by many of the people behind the eleventh feature installment of the famous sci-fi series.
Beaming down in attendance were some of the movie stars, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Eric Bana, Karl Urban and John Cho. Most of them were seen displaying a sleek appearance by wearing black suits. Joining them on the red carpet were director J.J. Abrams and producer Bryan Burk.
More Fresh Photos From 'Star Trek' Hit
October 17, 2008 10:10:02Following the recent outing of six revealing pictures from the upcoming "Star Trek", a number of fresher stills have been unveiled. Unlike the previous images which are mostly intended to give out as many of the action and adventure in the movie as possible, these newer images focus generally on some of the major characters. Almost all of the new images come out in courtesy of Entertainment Weekly (EW).
In respective order, the pictures posted below provide a closer take to Captain James T. Kirk by Chris Pine, U.S.S. Enterprise's science and executive officer Spock by Zachary Quinto, Romulan villain Nero by Eric Bana, U.S.S. Enterprise's physician Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy by Karl Urban, and U.S.S. Enterprise's staff physicist Hikaru Sulu by John Cho.
Karl Urban Signed as Star Trek's Dr. Leonard 'Bones' McCoy!
October 18, 2007 12:10:36This month sure has become one delightful period to remember by the Trekkies, none other because it marks the casting made on principal characters for the highly-anticipated "Star Trek." Now the project delightfully gets a new one in the lineup: Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard McCoy aka Bones.
StarTrek.com, the official site of the sci-fi franchise, has confirmed that the New Zealander has been signed on to play the young version of the USS Enterprise chief surgeon/chief medical officer, known for his catch phrase of "He's dead, Jim." The role, featured in the original Star Trek series, and the first six Star Trek films, was originated by actor DeForest Kelley, a native of Atlanta, Georgia who passed away in June 1999 due to stomach cancer.
The "Water" Has a New Flow

Looks like the reunion between Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson won't be happening through "Black Water Transit" as Variety has shockingly informed that the project will board with new cast of characters instead.
In replacement of the two acclaimed actors, Laurence Fishburne and Karl Urban have been picked up along with Brittany Snow, last seen playing cute wallflower Kate in high school comedy "John Tucker Must Die", to make up the new lineup. Writing task has also been shifted from Doug Richardson to Matthew Chapman, who previously penned "Runaway Jury" for 20th Century Fox.
Pathfinder on Board
October 31, 2005 11:10:25The adventure, drama, action flick "Pathfinder" is on board. The Marcus Nispel direction has just started filming. The film actually is a story about warring tribes of Norwegian Vikings and Native Americans which takes place a thousand years ago. When a Viking raid wipes out his village, he becomes his adopted people's savior in battling the Norsemen.
Loosely based on Nils Gaup's 1997 film, "Pathfinder" stars Karl Urban, Moon Bloodgood, Clancy Brown, Jay Tavare, Nathaniel Arcand, Ralf Moeller and Russell Means. It will be distributed worldwide in 2006 with Daniel Pearl is on board as Director of Photography.
