Adam Lambert Pens 'Strut' With Kara DioGuardi
September 18, 2009 11:09:17Rumor suggesting that Adam Lambert will get help from "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi is proven true. On the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, it is confirmed that the runner-up of Idol season 8 writes a song called "Strut" with her.
"I love that stuff that makes you feel sexy, puts you in a good mood," Lambert told the publication. "The song is supposed to be a confidence booster. The message is 'be yourself. Let it all hang out'."
Kara DioGuardi Coming Back for More 'American Idol'
July 30, 2009 01:07:56While Paula Abdul's return to "American Idol" is still hanging on a balance, the deal with fellow judge Kara DioGuardi is working out. The fourth judge, who was only added last season, will be back for another round although her deal is not as fulfilling as the other judges' and host Ryan Seacrest's.
"Her deal is done. There are no ifs, ands or buts," a source told E! Online. "Done. She will be back." Kara's rep is still quiet about the report but she is expected to shoot for the auditions in two weeks time. The ninth season meanwhile, is scheduled to begin in early 2010.
'American Idol' Judge Kara DioGuardi Got Hitched

The couple exchanged wedding vows in front of about 30 guests at the United Methodist Church, which is located across the street from the bride's house.
Donning a Vera Wang-designed wedding dress, Kara finished off her look with a 30-carat diamond-and-platinum bracelet and chandelier earrings with 20 carats of diamonds. The jewels were valued at $250,000.
Season 8 'American Idol' Recap: Disco Night
April 22, 2009 10:04:08It is the Disco Night on "American Idol" and two will be sent home if they screw up tonight. And back to its usual judging mode, all the four judges get to say something about a contestant's performance.
The first performer of the night was Lil Rounds with Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman". Randy Jackson was still rambling on how he cannot see Rounds as an artist. Kara DioGuardi thought it was not worth the wait while Paula Abdul threw in some kindness, saying that Round looked great. Simon Cowell played it straight and plain, dropping the "you're going home" bomb.
'American Idol' Top 7 Performance Recap: Movies Night
April 15, 2009 10:04:53This week's theme of "American Idol" is an interesting one, "Songs From the Movies" and to add cherry on top is Quentin Tarantino. The actor slash producer slash director knows any soundtrack enough that he is made the mentor for the top 7. However, he won't sit on the judge panel like he did in the third season.
Straight away Quentin is introduced at the beginning of the show, replacing Ryan Seacrest to utter the catchphrase "This.. is American Idol". Simon Cowell then explained that last week the show had an over time of 8 minutes, and therefore each contestant tonight will get comments only from two judges.
Recap of 'American Idol' 3rd Top 36 Performance
March 04, 2009 11:03:43The third and final batch of 12 hopefuls in "American Idol", are giving their last shot to vie for a stool in the Top 12. Performing on Tuesday, March 3 are the candidate who replaces disqualified Joanna Pacitti, the blind guy and mother of three who wants to get her family back to their feet after tornado demolished their house.
First in line is Von Smith who has a rather extravagant stage act while in audition rounds. He sings Marvin Gaye's "You All I Need to Get By", and apparently struggles not to scream by making his voice softer. The judges love it, with Simon Cowell commenting, "You remind me of Clay Aiken".
Recap of 'American Idol' 2nd Top 36 Performance
February 26, 2009 01:02:41Pre-empted by President Barack Obama's speech on Tuesday, February 24, "American Idol" is back to air the second wave of Top 36 performance the next day. Highlights from this second batch of performance is the Broadway -sounded Adam Lambert, the young divorced mother Megan Corkrey and the man with double personality Nick Mitchell aka Norman Gentle.
Spotted in the audience seat are the three finalists, Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver and Danny Gokey, who have advanced to the next round through last week's live votes. Host Ryan Seacrest opens with "Where else can you find a bartender, a font designer and a comedian?" The judges are seen not in their usual seating arrangement.
Paula Abdul Hints 'American Idol' Exit, Saying Four Is a Crowd
February 26, 2009 09:02:46The changes have been made and "American Idol" has four voices in the judging panel, but one apparently disagrees on the concept. Paula Abdul is not so keen on the idea of Kara DioGuardi as the additional judge, mainly because it brings down the pace of the show.
She said to OK Weekly, "It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show." To this she explained further that they had tried to go with four judges before DioGuardi, putting Hot 97 DJ Angie Martinez on the panel, but "it doesn't work". Martinez bailed out before the second season kicked off.
