'Up in the Air' Is Champion of 2009 National Board of Review
December 04, 2009 10:12:10The winners of 2009 National Board of Review have been announced on Thursday, December 3, revealing the domination of "Up in the Air". The drama comedy becomes the big winner as it manages to grab four prizes, including Best Film award.
The film also aids George Clooney to get the Best Actor title, which he shares with "Invictus" actor Morgan Freeman. Additionally, "Up in the Air" brings recognition to its star Anna Kendrick who wins Best Supporting Actress, as well as gives Best Adapted Screenplay award for screenwriters Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner.
'Nine' Dominates 14th Satellite Awards Movie Nominations

Jeremy Renner May Be Hawkeye, Not Captain America
November 28, 2009 12:11:41Jeremy Renner has recently sat down with Empire magazine to talk about his possibility of playing one of the superheroes in upcoming movie "The Avengers". When asked if he may fill the vacant position for Captain America, "The Hurt Locker" actor said he has not been offered for that part, but admitting that he is interested to play another character, Hawkeye.
"I don't know if I'd be right for Captain America. I met with the Marvel guys, actually, but we didn't talk about Captain America," Renner stated. He then immediately added, "But one of the writers, Zak Penn, we've become friends over time and he was thinking maybe Hawkeye could be interesting. He sounds like an interesting character."
Nominees of 2009 Gotham Awards Announced
October 20, 2009 02:10:37On Monday, October 19, the Independent Filmmaker Project has announced the nominees for the 19th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards, unraveling the dominance of "The Hurt Locker" and "Big Fan". Both feature films received the most nominations with three gongs each, and will battle it out in two categories, Best Feature and Breakthrough Actor.
In the Best Feature category, the two are up against Cherien Dabis' "Amreeka", Sebastian Silva's "The Maid" and the Coen brothers' "A Serious Man". As for the actor title, "Hurt Locker" enlisted Jeremy Renner and "Big Fan" put Patton Oswalt in competition with Ben Foster, Catalina Saavedra and Soulemane Sy Savane.
Jeremy Renner Races to "28 Weeks Later..."

Fox Atomic finally casts its choice on Jeremy Renner. The "S.W.A.T" actor has been selected to portray the lead character named Sgt. Doyle in the company's sci-fi horror of "28 Weeks Later...", a sequel to Danny Boyle's 2002 effort "28 Days Later."
Eyeing a May 2007 release, pic will pick up six months after the end of the first film, which depicted the destruction of human being in the city of London after the spreading of deadly virus known as Rage. Here the Special Forces is working to restore order and repopulating the quarantined city when a carrier of the virus unknowingly re-ignites the infection.
