Having his Graceland taking in an estimated $49 million in the past 12 months, Elvis seizes the No. 1 spot on Forbes.com's seventh annual list of Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, again, after he last topped the list in 2005.
James Dean Museum Closed
December 15, 2005 11:12:50The James Dean Gallery in Fairmount, Indiana is going to be closed by the end of the year Dec 31. The museum chronicling the life of James Dean has been opened for 16 years and about 100,000 people have toured the exhibit. Unfortunately, the owner David Loehr was unable to sustain the high operating costs.
Loehr says, "The operating expenses and upkeep and payments are just more than we can handle. I'm just getting further into debt and I just can't do it anymore." Settled in the actor's hometown where he attended high school, the exhibit displays memorabilia such as clothing worn by Dean in his three major films, school papers, paintings, original movie posters, and magazines from all over the world.

James Dean Death 50th Anniversary
April 12, 2005 11:04:19To mark the 50th anniversary of movie legend, James Dean, death, a series of his lost photographs, taken by acclaimed photojournalist Phil Stern, will be displayed. The lost photographs to be exhibited at London's Sony Ericsson Proud Central Gallery from April 29, 2005, will show the icon in his early 20s.
As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, there will also the release of a DVD box set, which will premiere at next month's Cannes Film Festival, and a three-day event, the James Dean Fest, to be held in his hometown of Marion, Indiana.
