The late "Godfather of Soul" James Brown was commemorated on May 3, the day of what would have been his 74th birthday. Family members including son Daryl Brown vowed to continue the legend's legacy in music industry.
Daryl in particular is eager to tour with The Soul Generals, a band that backed his father for 2 decades. Playing guitar and taking the role as the frontman, he made the May 3 event the first show that the group does. The band also plans to play at New York's Apollo Theatre that marked James' first success in music back in 1956.

Music legend James Brown finally laid to rest Saturday March 10th. The Godfather of Soul's body was placed in a crypt at his daughter, Deanna Brown Thomas' Beech Island, South Carolina home Saturday, 75 days after his death.
The noon ceremony was attended by close family and friends, including Brown's partner, Tomi Rae Brown. Rev Al Sharpton, who presided the ceremony, spoke on their behalf. "His children decided that they were not going to wait on the courts. He left a lot. They're fighting. People fight over that in court. They wanted their father entombed with dignity."

The memories of the late soul singer James Brown will remain immortal as planning on turning his home into a Graceland-like museum and building a mausoleum on the site for his body, is on its way.
Debri Opri, an attorney for the late star, said Friday January 12th that Brown's children, several close friends and the singer's trustees are all planning on a museum. Concerning that encounter, the people are planning to talk with Elvis Presley's family to see how they did Graceland.

The "Godfather of Soul" James Brown will rise again - on screen - this time the feature film will be directed by Spike Lee, the "Inside Man" director. Produced by Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, the movie could be production by late 2007.
''It's an authorized biography done with the cooperation of Mr. Brown before his passing,'' Paramount spokeswoman Nancy Kirkpatrick said without further comment to Variety.

Thousands of fans gathered at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem to bid farewell to the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. Outside the venerable theater, the marquee read: "Rest in Peace Apollo Legend. Godfather of Soul James Brown 1933-2006."
Billy Mitchell, the Apollo's manager of group sales and a theater historian, said that fans are expected from all over the country for the public viewing. Some fans turned up before midnight to get a spot in line, he said.

The legendary R&B singer and songwriter, widely known for his hit singles like "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" and "I Got You (I Feel Good)," died early Monday Dec 25th at Atlanta's Emory Crawford Long Hospital of congestive heart failure. He was 73.

Hence, as a way to show their respect and gratitude, those people gave a life-sized bronze statue of the Godfather of Soul himself in middle age, smiling broadly and wearing a cape, presented at a Friday ceremony downtown attended by hundreds to mark Brown 72nd birthday.
