May 15, 2009 12:05:04The dismissal of Peyton and Lucas from "One Tree Hill" after 6 years of running had set up a roar among fans of the show. But here to provide the truth as well as some insights regarding the reason behind their characters' exit is Peyton's depicter herself, Hilarie Burton.
In an exclusive interview with EW, Hilarie wanted to deliver the message that she would never say bad words about "One Tree Hill" and that the decision was based on "adults being good to each other and being kind". She elaborated, "I think everyone was kind of agreeable about the situation. There were a lot of really wonderful conversations. It wasn't a rash decision; a lot of thought, emotion, and kindness was put into it."

May 13, 2009 09:05:22The media have been reporting that Chad Michael Murray is a goner from "One Tree Hill" but apparently one more is leaving the show. His on-screen wife, Peyton, is not included in the next season's story and thus Hilarie Burton is also out from the picture.
The CW has confirmed the departures of the two actors to several media outlets, but no formal reason has been given. The characters got married on the Monday, May 11 episode but pregnant Peyton is wheeled to the ER on the next week's episode. Fans of the show will be able to watch Chad and Hilarie, who have been in the show for 6 years, for the last time on the season finale that airs May 18.

Hot on the heels that the show is being renewed for a seventh season, there are rumors of two main cast leaving the show. It has remained a speculation however, until one of them speaks out in a video blog.
It sprang from OTHFans.com earlier this week that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton have not renewed their contracts for the seventh season. The site assures readers that the information is solid. Murray's exit from the show is still a big question mark but a light is shed on Burton's part. The actress who portrays Peyton Sawyer posts a video from her Wilmington, North Carolina-based production company's website.
