Brad Paisley and Keith Urban Join Early Winners of 2009 ACM Awards
April 01, 2009 03:04:12Brad Paisley and Keith Urban have just been announced as other early winners of the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The two country music singers share a prize for Vocal Event of the Year, thanks to their duet track "Start a Band".
In addition to the honor, Brad also gets another trophy as his music video for single "Waitin' on a Woman" has been named Video of the Year. This time, he shares the award with the video's producer Mark Kalbfeld, producer/director Jim Shea and director Peter Tilden.

February 12, 2009 11:02:15The nominees for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards have been revealed during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on February 11. Announced by Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes and Jessica Simpson, it was revealed that Brad Paisley and Heidi Newfield both led the pack with six and four counts respectively.
Brad and Heidi were up against each other in Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. For the three categories, they were joined by such contenders as Miranda Lambert, Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson and Carrie Underwood among others.

Indeed, the huge decision led to a favorable result with her solo album "What Am I Waiting For" taking the tenth spot of Billboard Hot 200 chart upon its release on August 5 and also lands at number 2 on Hot Country Albums tally. "It is just fantastic, because this was such a labor of love. It's a wonderful feeling to have it be accepted and connect with everyone as you hope that it will," she said.
"What Am I Waiting For" is led by the sultry single of "Johnny and June" that unmistakably represents the country legends themselves, Johnny Cash and June Carter. On taking them as inspiration, Heidi reasoned that their love is "powerful and big, and crazy and wild. Everybody wants to find that kind of a big love in their life"
Heidi Newfield Landing in Second Spot of Billboard Top Country Albums
August 14, 2008 03:08:18Heidi Newfield has landed brand new album "What Am I Waiting for" at number two on
Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The effort is her debut studio album which carries ten tracks, including the lead single "Johny & June". It is reportedly to mark Heidi's independence after leaving her band Trick Pony.
Speaking of her success, from the road in upstate New York, Heidi says, "I am so thrilled with the reaction from everyone regarding my new album! The record was such a labor of love and I couldn't be more proud with the result. This is just the beginning of good music to come."
