The Academy Award-winning actress took time out of her hectic filming schedule, turning a volunteer teacher for a day for children at a school in New Orleans, Louisiana recently.
Spent time with the at-risk youth of New Orleans at the Children's Defense Fund Freedom School, Reese helped the kids with their assignments, read a story to the class, and posed for photographs with the kids. The mother of two is having her trip being filmed for an upcoming American Idol charity special Idol Gives Back.
Gloria Estefan to Sign '90 Millas' in Bronx

A queue line is expected in front of Bronx's Starbucks on September 26. Gloria Estefan will come to the coffee shop at Kingbride Plaza, Bronx, N.Y. to sign her new Spanish CD '90 Millas'.
The autograph signing will begin at 5:00 pm and last for an hour. Fans can bring their copies of '90 Millas' that has been released via Burgundy Records/Sony BMG today (September 18).

Gloria Estefan is taking pride out of her Cuban ancestry by pouring the culture's sound, spirit and language into her new album "90 Millas". To thicken the Cuban mood, she has penned fellow Latin musicians to contribute in the album.
Experts such as trumpet player Arturo Sandoval, guitarist Carlos Santana, Pueto Rican singer Jose Feliciano and even Cuban native actor Andy Garcia each give a color in the album. Also joining are the Cuban musicians such as drummer Sheila E. and salsa singer Luis Enrique.

An actress, singer, and clothing designer, Jennifer Lopez has just been named as one of the most influential Hispanic entertainers in America in the entertainment section of People en Espanol's list of "100 Most Influential Hispanics", which honors those who have made an impact in the Hispanic community.

"The Magically Mysterious Adventures of Noelle the Bulldog" stars a wide-eyed bulldog Noelle, wide-mouthed Dalmatians, bulbous goldfish and a few birds. The story centers on the so-so Noelle, based on Estefan's own bulldog from Colombia, who saves the day, managing in one afternoon to retrieve a tennis ball from under a car, return a jumping fish to water and fashion a stairway from cans of beans and sacks of flour to reach a bag of seeds for some hungry birds.

The couple has planned a Monday visit that will include delivery of a planeload of supplies and toys to shelters in the Mississippi cities of Long Beach and Biloxi, and Baton Rouge, La.
"The separation of families to me is very close to my heart because we lived that as immigrants," Estefan revealed her feeling. "I am privileged to help in some way and I will always take that opportunity."
