Ghostface Killah Threatens to Quit After Poor 'Rehab' Sale
January 24, 2008 03:01:29Disappointed with the sales number of his latest record, Ghostface Killah has threatened to quit the music industry. His seventh solo album 'The Big Doe Rehab', opened at #41 on Billboard Hot 200, selling only 36,000 copies in the first week and he blames it on illegal download.
The rapper who is also a member of Wu-Tang Clan owns more than 100,000 affiliates in his MySpace page but his disc sale never goes beyond that. He posted a video on YouTube to show how pissed he is when the math doesn't add up and concluded that people would rather download the album for free instead of spending cash on it.

The clip was directed by Rik Cordero who had penned clips for Remy Ma, Consequence and Memphis Bleek.

A number of hip-hop icons have turned Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" to their own version. The funk and jazz tune has inspired Jay-Z, Pharoahe Monch and Ghostface Killah to provide the remix. Winehouse, on the other side actually said the remixes were "really, really good", but refused to reveal the details.
Little did the British import know that her tune would bring influence to other musicians. "Obviously I didn't set out to do that," she said, "but I have pride in being different. And the Jay-Z remix is wicked. I'm flattered that he liked (the song) enough to do something with it." With this new progress, she hopes to make more future recordings with Jay-Z in order to break US market like she had done with UK.
Ghostface Killah to Jam Brooklyn Fest

Ghostface Killah will be one of the headliners of Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. The rapper who is also the member of Wu-Tang Clan will perform alongside Big Daddy Kane, Consequence, Lupe Fiasco, Skillz and hip-hop artist Rhymefest on June 23.
Held in Tobacco Warehouse, Brooklyn, the event will also feature local rap group named Tanya Morgan. "We are very excited to be part of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. The event is one of the most highly anticipated concerts in New York (and) from what I can tell it's a crazy event to be aligned with," DonWill of Tanya Morgan said.

After releasing the album Back to Black on October 30, 2006 in UK, the much-awaited album of Amy Winehouse will finally satisfy her US fans' musical hunger on March 13, 2007.
Noted as her second album, it has gained popularity in UK as soon as it entered the stores. The first single released titled "Rehab" came in no 19 in UK single chart. Upon the release of the CD single a week later the position had risen to #7. The album alone gained the No. 1 throne in UK Album Chart on January 14, 2007 and nominated in the 2007 Brit Awards.

In a recap of the Top 10 albums on the US pop album charts for the week ended Sunday, there's something interesting that people could obviously see. It's the new chart-topper which debuts on its very top position.
The top spot on the Billboard 200 surprisingly is seized by Atlanta rapper T.I., whose album "King" sold almost 522,000 copies, such amount enough to push last week chart topper Prince's "3121" aside to No. 8 with only 75,000 copies. Checking in at No. 2 in the meantime is Tim McGraw's "Reflected: Greatest Hits Vol. 2," which sold 242,000 copies.
