On March 6, 2007, three days before the 10th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.'s death, Bad Boy Records released the compilation of his best pieces, "Greatest Hits". One week later, it debuted at #1 on US Billboard 200 chart with 99,000 copies sold. This is his third No.1 peak since "Life After Death" (1997) and "Born Again" (1999).
Indie rock band Arcade Fire that just entered the chart this week soars to #2 with the album "Neon Bible" at 92,000 copies. The chart topper last week, DAUGHTRY with self-titled album sold only 82,000 copies and therefore falls to #3. Akon's "Konvicted" then is down to No. 4 with total sales of 76,000.

In a reader poll, which is about to be released Friday June 16th, 2006 in Country Weekly, the name of country singer Keith Urban comes up as the Sexiest Male Country Star, beating the likes of such country music artists as Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, all of whom rounding out the top five, in order.
"The biggest surprise is how rapidly over the last couple of years Keith Urban has shot to the head of the class," Editor Bill Gubbins said. Meanwhile he added that there are about 32,000 readers voted in the first annual poll, both online and by mail.

The nominees of the 41st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards have been announced early Wednesday morning March 8th, 2006 and among the long lines there is Brad Paisley who receives a leading six nominations, including nods for Single, Song, and Male Vocalist of the Year. Duo Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland each receives 5 nods.
Announced the nominees Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood also are among the most honored artists with four nominations apiece. Some other artists vie for the prestigious award are Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Gary Allan, Lee Ann Womack and many more.
Alicia Holds the Key to the Billboard 200

It's Alicia Keys' "Unplugged" album that becoming this weekend's winner. Selling 196,000 copies, the set secures the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, knocks down Canadian rockers Nickelback from their throne at the top spot to 2nd place with their fifth effort "All the Right Reasons" sold 170,000 copies.
To land at No 3 is Gary Allan's sixth effort inspired by the suicide of his wife, "Tough All Over," which sold 100,000 CDs. Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" climbs back to No. 4 sold another 90,000, ahead of Kanye West's sophomore effort, "Late Registration" at No. 5 and Latin singer Ricky Martin's "Life" at No. 6. Elsewhere, Sheryl Crow's fifth studio album, "Wildflower," drops two places to No. 7, followed by Twista's "The Day After" which falls from No. 2 to No. 8.
