'Slumdog Millionaire' Grabs Five Nods at 2009 European Film Awards

'Whip It!' Brought Roller Derby Team to L.A. Premiere

'Cowboy Bebop' Is in Rewrite

Talking to MTV News during a press event for his upcoming "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee", the 45-year-old revealed that the film's script is getting a rewrite.
"There's a draft of the script, but the writer did such a great job [that] in order to make the movie, you would need half a billion dollars," Reeves revealed when asked about the movie project. He then added, "So the studio went, 'This movie is fantastic and it would cost half a billion dollars', so he's doing a rewrite."
'Cloudy with a Chance' Rolls to Top North American Box Office

The children's book adaptation scored the highest-grossing September animation debut on record. The $30 million bow topped Sony's other animation film, "Open Season", which collected $23.6 million during its first three days weekend in 2006. 'I Can Do Bad' Leads North American Box Office

Debuted atop the chart in its opening week, the Tyler Perry latest comedy has hauled in $23.4 million out of approximately 3,200 screens at 2,255 sites.
The movie's debut at #1 marked the seventh consecutive low-cost movie by Perry for Lions Gate Entertainment that has opened successfully since early 2006. It also became Perry's second movie this year to land atop the box office following the February-released "Madea Goes to Jail". "I Can Do Bad" was the third highest-grossing debut for a Tyler Perry movie as well.
'The Final Destination' Rules Labor Day Box Office

Having secured its #1 place at the chart for a second consecutive week over the three-day weekend, the Warner Bros.' 3D horror-fest stayed strong on the top position with $15.3 million that was counted from September 4 to 7.
With the additional Labor Day tally, the fourth chapter in the horror series has lifted its total earning to $50.4 million after only eleven days in theaters. That made this David R. Ellis-directed thriller to be well on track in becoming the franchise's highest grossing film, as it will easily beat 2006's "Final Destination 3" bow of $54.1 million.
'The Final Destination' Sustains #1 Lead at Box Office

After beating up "H2: Halloween 2" at the race to the top of North American box office last weekend, the fourth "Final Destination" film won the first three days of this Labor Day weekend and retained its #1 position for a second-straight weekend.
With an estimated $12.4 million in its pocket, the 3-D thriller came ahead of romantic comedy "All About Steve" and is thought to soon pass the $54 million bow collected by "Final Destination 3". So far, its ten days haul brought the ticket sales to the approximate total of $47.6 million, and it is expected to rake in more when the four days tally is counted.
Keanu Reeves Makes Time for 'Henry's Crime'

Aerosmith's Frontman Rushed to Hospital After Falling From Stage

According to Billboard, the vocalist suffered minor head and neck injuries as well as a shoulder injury. On early Thursday, August 6, he was sent to hospital for medical treatment.
"He does a lot of dancing on the stage and he does a lot of stuff with his mike stand. 'Funny People' Laughs to #1 Box Office

Despite the fact that the movie nabbed the top slot, its performance was far from impressive. The $20 million plus bow is far lower than the debut of Apatow's "Knocked Up" which collected $30.7 million in 2007. While its earning was better than "The 40 Year-Old Virgin", "Funny People" was still behind "Virgin" in terms of attendance. The figure also marked lead actor Adam Sandler's worst opening for a comedy since his 2000 "Little Nicky".
'G-Force' Takes Down 'Half-Blood Prince' at North American Box Office

'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' Crowned Box Office's King

'Bruno' Dethrones 'Transformers 2' From North American Box Office's Top

Debuted Friday, July 10, at approximately 3,400 screens at 2,756 venues, the Sacha Baron Cohen-starring mockumentary scored $30.6 million and managed to steal the #1 position from "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", which has dominated the revenue chart for the past two weeks.
Number-wise, the Dan Mazer-directed comedy beat out the $26 million opening weekend of Cohen's previous comedy, "Borat". However, it didn't make quite an impression like "Borat" which managed to rake in $26.5 million at only 837 theaters. "Bruno" started big on its opening day with $14.4 million, but had a huge drop of 39% on Saturday, July 11.
Los Angeles Premiere of 'Entourage' Season 6

Eve Snatches 'Glee' Cameo From Whitney Houston

IMAX Release of 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' Delayed
June 08, 2009 04:06:05"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" won't see a simultaneous release in both conventional and IMAX theaters, TV Watch Online revealed. Claiming to have received an e-mail about the matter, the site reported that the sixth installment of the "Harry Potter" series won't be opened in IMAX theaters until July 29, two weeks after its release in traditional theaters.
On the reason behind the release delay, IMAX pointed out on their agreement with Paramount for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". They explained, "The film will open in 35mm theaters on the 15th; however, it will not open in IMAX theaters until the 29th. Basically what happened is IMAX Corporation signed a contract with Paramount guaranteeing them a 4 week exclusive window if they filmed parts of Transformers 2 with IMAX cameras onto IMAX film (something that is quite a bit more expensive)."
CBS' Official Fall 2009 Schedule Listed

Among the highlighted ones are the pick-up of "Medium" which has been snubbed by NBC and the go-ahead on "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" spin-off which is titled "NCIS: Los Angeles".
CBS Studios which is behind "Medium" previously criticized NBC for canceling the show starring Patricia Arquette. "NBC's cancellation of 'Medium' is inexplicable to us," the statement said. "The ratings don't lie: 'Medium' outperforms many of NBC's renewed shows ... We believe the show has a significant future and await developments." It will be put on Fridays, sandwiched by "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numb3rs".
Linkin Park's New Song for 'Transformers 2' Outed
May 19, 2009 10:05:28Linkin Park's new song which is crafted for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" soundtrack has been released on iTunes and soon thereafter its audio stream emerges. Titled "New Divide", the track carries lyrics "I remember black skies/The lightning all around me/I remember each flash/As time began to blur/Like a startling sign/That fate had finally found me."
In support of the new song, the Chester Bennington-fronted band have filmed a music video with DJ Joe Hahn serving behind the lens. Unfortunately, the premiere date for the video is yet to be shared.
Stan Bush Remakes 'The Touch' for 'Transformers 2'
May 15, 2009 02:05:22Pop/rock singer Stan Bush has re-recorded his 1986 song "The Touch" with the hopes that it will be used as one of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" anthems. The remake version of the track is titled "The Touch: Sam's Theme" and claimed to "capture the indomitable spirit of hero Sam Witwicky."
A music video for the song has also been outed. Directed by Art Douglas with its cinematography and visual effects by Shian Storm, the video features Stan singing to the song and scenes from Shia LaBeouf-starring movie intercepting. Up to date, it is yet to be confirmed if the track is chosen to be in the film or not.

Old Faces Could Be Seen in 'Scream 4'

Third 'After Dark Horrorfest' Pushed Back

"As [the officers] approached the apartment they saw people in the window sitting at a table and it looked like they were engaged in something. There was a white capsule and a white powdery substance that later tested positive for cocaine," Capt. Bill Bleyle with the Manlius Police Department in New York State explained. Both Page and Ford were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Udvar-Hazy, are reported to have planned to buy one of the best-known gay bars from Laguna Beach before then planning to turn it into a ritzy restaurant and bed and breakfast.
Planned to buy both bars, which is now named "Boom Boom Room," and its adjoining Coast Inn on Pacific Coast Highway, the three of them are about to develop a full chain of bed and breakfast getaways, which are to bear their names. Speaking on their working together, Clooney commented "The thing I'm most proud of in my life is this group of friends. It's not some sort of groovy clique. We're real good friends. After 25 years together, there's this incredible ease to it."
More Cast Said So
December 08, 2005 01:12:44Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore, both have agreed to star in the comedy romance "Because I Said So." The twosome is about to be joined by the likes of Lauren Graham and Piper Perabo.
In the film which is about to start shooting Monday in Los Angeles, Keaton plays a well intentioned but overzealous mother on a mission to find Mr. Right for her youngest daughter (Moore). Graham and Perabo will play older sisters.
Peter Segal & Pals 'Get Smart'
December 05, 2005 11:12:05Peter Segal has been tapped to direct "Get Smart," an upcoming action comedy which is the big-screen adaptation of the classic TV series for Warner Bros. Pictures. Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, the series saw the late Don Adams act as Agent 86, a spy for CONTROL, fighting the evil forces of KAOS.
Whereas for the big screen version, which has just undergone a rewrite by Tom Astle and Matt Ember, moviegoers will see Steve Carell playing Adams' role as hapless secret agent Maxwell Smart. As of the story, it will contemporize the setting, with CONTROL falling on hard times and not getting the big government funding other spy agencies, like the CIA, do.
Musicians Do Almost Acoustic Xmas Show for KROQ-FM

As of our musicians, they are also busy with the preparation for the Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM's annual Almost Acoustic Xmas show to be held December 10-11 at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk.
Those who have signed on to perform on the show among others are Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, The White Stripes, System of a Down, and Korn. Get the turn to perform on the first night is NIN, System of a Down, Korn, Fall Out Boy, Thrice, Rise Against and Avenged Sevenfold. Whereas, the next evening will see performances by Depeche Mode, The White Stripes, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Nada Surf, Hot Hot Heat and The Bravery.
Batman Begins Named the Favourite Movie of 2005

Apparently, nearly 15,000 film fans voted the action flick, tentatively titled "Batman Begins," as the Favorite Movie of 2005. Securing the top spot of the poll held by Total Film magazine, 'Batman' beats the like of "Sin City" and "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." The magazine's deputy editor claims 'Batman' as "a smart but funny reinvention" and "excellently directed."
Other award went to actor Mickey Rourke who was voted Man of the Year for his portrayal in cult movie "Sin City." In the meantime, Ian McDiarmid, who played Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in 'Revenge of the Sith,' has been named Best Movie Villain. "War of the Worlds" star Dakota Fanning was named Best Child Actor.
Honorees of the 9th Annual HFF Awards

Jolie to Join Casino Royale Cast

It is reported that the film producers have referred to actress Angelina Jolie as "perfect" for the role of Vesper Lynd, a Russian double agent who beds James Bond.
Some other actresses reported to be the new Bond girl among others include Jessica Alba, Sienna Miller and Kelly Brook. Elsewhere, singer Rachel Stevens also is eyeing to get the part.
Wonder Still Has Time to Love
October 18, 2005 10:10:08It's been 10 years that Stevie Wonder doesn't produce an album. Now the time has come for him to share "A Time to Love," his new album due in stores on October 18th. Speaking about the long time he needs to complete the album the singer says "I wanted it to sound contemporary but still be me. It was just a matter of getting it right."
What is so special about the album is that it contains 15 original tracks of all genres, from hip-hop, gospel to world music, with some arrangements using strings. What's more it also features some guest vocalists, like gospel artist Kim Burrell, on the anthemic "If Your Love Cannot Be Moved" with choir vocals produced by Kirk Franklin and India Arie, on the title track.

The action drama movie centers on Rexxx, Hollywood's most in-demand canine star. After getting lost, the divalike dog is adopted by a down-on-its-luck firehouse. Rexxx teams with a 12-year-old boy (Hutcherson) to turn the scrappy firehouse into the city's finest.
"Firehouse Dog" is that of Regency Enterprises that already boarded by Josh Hutcherson and is being directed by Todd Holland from a Claire-Dee Lim screenplay. Bree Turner has just signed on to star in as Liz Knowles, a commercial producer who works with Rexxx before he goes missing. Other casts include Bruce Greenwood, Dash Mihok and Steven Culp.
Zeta-Jones & Reeves Eyeing 'Stompanato'
August 25, 2005 10:08:15I've told you before, there will always be something new from movie business. Here come "Stompanato," a biopic about Johnny Stompanato, the boyfriend of actress Lana Turner who was killed by her young daughter, Cheryl Crane.
Set to star in is Keanu Reeves and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Attached to direct is Adrian Lyne and responsible for producing will be Contrafilm's Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson along with Erwin Stoff. "Stompanato," which script was written by David and Janet Peoples and Sebastian Gutierrez, has landed on the steps of Warner Bros. Pictures but has not made the studio its home yet as deal making has not started.
Electra Goes "Cheaper"

There the beauty will play as Eugene Levy's wife, who is a a former actress. Coming back to play in the sequel are Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, who both return as heads of the Baker family.
The Adam Shankman direction and Shawn Levy production, will focus its story on the competition the Baker family has with Eugene Levy's family, which is consisting of eight children. Also joining the cast is actress Hilary Duff.
Bullock and Reeves Reunite in "Il Mare"

In that film, which production is set to begin in March in Chicago, Bullock will play as a lonely doctor, while Keanu play as a frustrated architect. Both begin exchanging love letter before they then separated in time by two years.
