February 21, 2008 11:02:13R&B/soul and hip hop singer Erykah Badu gets a fragrance deal with top fashion designer Tom Ford. The Grammy-award winning songstress has reportedly been tapped to be the new face of Tom's new yet-unnamed fragrance.
Little is still known about the twosome's collaboration. Meanwhile, it is also not yet known on when Erykah will start shooting the scent's ad campaign.

Engaging in musical flick "Hairspray" and opening a burger joint restaurant, Queen Latifah doesn't forget her root as a singer with the release of a new album. The rapper is launching her second album under Verve titled "Trav'lin' Light".
Still on the heels of "The Dana Owens Album" that sports jazz vibe, rapper-turned singer Latifah will cover songs associated with Peggy Lee, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughn, Mary Wells, Roberta Flack, Phoebe Snow and Etta James among others.

Chart-topper Mary J. Blige has been tapped to make a cameo appearance on ABC's "One Life to Live."
The R&B diva is slated to perform two hits from her latest album, "The Breakthrough," at the club Capricorn in the town of Llanview. The episode is set to air July 28.

Fans of R&B and hip-hop music should be delighted to watch "Block Party." Depicting the situation in rehearsals and backstage, this documentary about Dave Chappelle's dream concert features some of the most gifted and socially conscious hip-hop and R&B artists, among others Kanye West, Mos Def, John Legend, Talib Kweli, The Fugees, Erykah Badu, plus Big Daddy Kane. And all appear in his show held on a corner in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
"Block Party" begins with Chappelle goes around to offer some golden tickets to the party days before the show to random citizens and acquaintances which include a convenience-store owner and a couple of probation officers while also invites the Central State University marching band to join the musical lineup. Directed by Michel Gondry, the docu also shows the scenes in which he delivers a megaphone-amped party invitation to "the Huxtables" of "Cosby Show" fame and clowns with neighborhood kids as he passes through a street of Brooklyn townhouses.
