Thousands Witness Rockefeller Center Christmas Lit
December 03, 2009 12:12:34Thousands of people packed the street of New York City to witness the lighting of Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. The annual event that almost went unsuccessful proceeded on Wednesday, December 2 with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Tishman Speyer CEO Jerry Speyer flipping the ceremonial switch just before 9 P.M.
Hosted by Jane Krakowski of "30 Rock" and Zachary Levi of "Chuck", the event was made merrier with performances by Shakira, Aretha Franklin, The Radio City Rockettes, Alicia Keys, The Roots, Michael Buble, Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, and several others. They took the ice skate rink stage before the tree was being lit.
Radiohead's Thom Yorke Forms New Band With RHCP's Bassist
September 30, 2009 02:09:37Thom Yorke, the lead singer of band Radiohead, has a side project with Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist/keyboardist Michael "Flea" Balzary. Also recruited as the new band's personnel are producer Nigel Godrich, Beck's drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco.
"In the past couple of weeks I've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work," Thom wrote on Radiohead's official website. Along with the announcement, he posted a picture of the new band. "Here's a photo.. its me, joey waronker, mauro refosco, flea and nigel godrich," so he stated.

Kara DioGuardi Coming Back for More 'American Idol'
July 30, 2009 01:07:56While Paula Abdul's return to "American Idol" is still hanging on a balance, the deal with fellow judge Kara DioGuardi is working out. The fourth judge, who was only added last season, will be back for another round although her deal is not as fulfilling as the other judges' and host Ryan Seacrest's.
"Her deal is done. There are no ifs, ands or buts," a source told E! Online. "Done. She will be back." Kara's rep is still quiet about the report but she is expected to shoot for the auditions in two weeks time. The ninth season meanwhile, is scheduled to begin in early 2010.
Radiohead's Thom Yorke Confirmed for 'New Moon' Soundtrack

Furthermore, it is revealed that Chris has got his hands on the track and can't wait to listen to it. "Unless it's sounds of him belching, I think I'll put it in," so the filmmaker told HitFix in an interview at 2009 San Diego Comic-Con.
Beside confirming about Thom Yorke's contribution to "New Moon" soundtrack, Chris also said rock band Bon Iver have also written song for the Robert Pattinson-starring movie. "I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard," the helmer of "The Golden Compass" said.

Paula Abdul Hints 'American Idol' Exit, Saying Four Is a Crowd
February 26, 2009 09:02:46The changes have been made and "American Idol" has four voices in the judging panel, but one apparently disagrees on the concept. Paula Abdul is not so keen on the idea of Kara DioGuardi as the additional judge, mainly because it brings down the pace of the show.
She said to OK Weekly, "It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show." To this she explained further that they had tried to go with four judges before DioGuardi, putting Hot 97 DJ Angie Martinez on the panel, but "it doesn't work". Martinez bailed out before the second season kicked off.

A press release was issued Wednesday Oct 25th announcing that Ronnie James Dio, who replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath during the early '80s, is officially in. Still according to the press release, "after various promoters have approached their respective management, the guys have started taking all of this very seriously, as they have wanted to reunite for some time now...If all goes well, Heaven And Hell should be hitting the road in early 2007."

Announced Wednesday Feb 15th by the CTV network and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the music group ups for Juno Fan Choice, Single Of The Year and Producer Of The Year for "Photograph", Album Of The Year and Rock Album Of The Year for "All the Right Reasons", and Group Of The Year as well.

Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity and Angels' Place.
Harry Potter & Musicians in Action

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" from director Mike Newell, which will open November 18 in North America, will star several musicians. They are Pulp vocalist Jarvis Cocker, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and drummer Phil Selway. All of them are set to play members of a band that performs at the Yule Ball at the Hogwarts School.
Rounded out by producer Jason Buckle and former Add N to (X) principal Steve Claydon, the three of them would sing "Do the Hippogriff," "This Is the Night" and "Magic Works," all of which can be found on the "Goblet" soundtrack, due November 15 via Warner Bros. Anyway, unlike its previous series which were worked by John Williams, this fourth installment of Harry Potter movie was created by Patrick Doyle.
The Massacre Is Begun
October 21, 2005 10:10:34It is reported that New Line Cinema has started principal photography for "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Origin" with Platinum Dunes is once again producing. The film, previously titled "The Beginning," was written by David J. Schow and Sheldon Turner and is directed by Jonathan Liebesman.
With shooting began in Austin, Texas this week, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Origin" is set for an October 6, 2006 opening date. Star in among others are Jordana Brewster, Andrew Bryniarski, R. Lee Ermey, Taylor Handley, Matthew Bomer, Diora Baird and Heather Kafka.
