August 27, 2009 10:08:43In a party taking place on August 26 at Mayfair Hotel in London, nominees for this year's MOBO Awards were uncovered. Those who got multiple kudos were Beyonce Knowles, Kanye West, Dizzee Rascal, Chipmunk and N-Dubz among others.
Beyonce, Kanye and Dizzee received three nominations each. Meanwhile, Chipmunk and N-Dubz led the pack, shadowing them all with four nods each. "It is a reflection of the industry that the guys are dominating the UK nominations, but we have identified a lot of young female talent coming through," Kanya King, the awards' founder, commented on the nominees list.

A rare footage of Stevie Wonder's duet with the late Ella Fitzgerald will be included in the diva's revived classics album "We All Love Ella: Celebrating The First Lady Of Song".
Grammy award winning song "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" was recorded in a duet version between Wonder and Fitzgerald in 1977. This song is among latest additions for the album that is due June 5 via Verne. Other artists also paying tribute through their covers are Michael Buble, KD Lang, Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Queen Latifah, Hank Jones, Ledesi, Dianne Reeves, Linda Ronstadt, Etta James and Lizz Wright.

Jazz singer Diana Krall brings along her trumpeter buddy Chris Botti in several dates of her North America tour. Among the 38 dates in Krall's schedule, Botti can be found in 18 of them.
Krall's trek will begin with 2 nights show at Yoshi's Jazz Club in Oakland, Calif. and is continued with 4 Las Vegas dates at Hilton Hotel. The latter will be Krall's first performance in Las Vegas and in there she will be accompanied by The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. The itinerary will end September 22 in Montrey Jazz Festival, Montrey, Calif.

2007 Juno Awards is all about Nelly Furtado. The 28 years old singer swept as many as five nominations apart from her frequent appearance on stage as the host of the show. In the Canadian version of Grammy, Nelly snatched the spotlight when first taking the stage and introduced herself as the host. She then gradually grabbed the 5 trophies that forced her to prepare 5 different sets of acceptance speech.
As an artist, she won Dorito's Juno Fans Choice Award and Artist of the Year. Her album "Loose" shone for two things, Pop Album of the Year and simply Album of the Year while her single featuring Timbaland titled "Promiscuous" was awarded Single of the Year.

Mother of 4 months old twins, Diana Krall can't wait to get on stage again. She will appear as a guest in Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary Gala at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall on May 6.
The event will raise money to promote Women's and Infants' Health Program at the hospital. The number $3.5 million is expected to accumulate in the end of the event. This little show may be the chance for Krall to loosen up before the potential summer tour.
Revival of Ella Fitzgerald's Classics

As a tribute to the late jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, artists such as Michael Buble, KD Lang and Diana Krall have joined forces to make an album covering Ella's classics. The compilation will contain 13 tracks and is titled "We All Love Ella: Celebrating The First Lady Of Song."
Scheduled to release on June 5 via Verve, the album will also feature Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Queen Latifah, Hank Jones, Ledesi, Dianne Reeves, Linda Ronstadt, Etta James and Lizz Wright.

Diana Krall and hubby Elvis Costello have double happiness. The couple welcomed their first children together Wednesday Dec 6th in New York, twin sons Dexter Henry Lorcan and Frank Harlan James.
The arrival of the twins has become the greatest gift Krall and Costello, who celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary on Dec 5th, have ever had. "We are ecstatic," the husband and wife said in a statement.
Revision on the U.S. Pop Album Charts for the Week Ended September 24th

Nielsen SoundScan has just released a revision on its data concerning report sales on the US pop album charts for the week ended Sunday Sept 24. The company's previous data, released Wednesday Sept 27th, is said to contain what it called as "anomalies," because an unidentified retailer was unable to report sales for the period.
And this just in, the latest 10 figure on the album charts. No. 1 is still Justin Timberlake with his second solo effort "FutureSex/LoveSounds" sold 228,000 units last week, up from the 217,000 originally reported. On the 2nd rank is Clay Aiken's "A Thousand Different Ways", taking in 211,000 units, up from 205,000. Stacy Ferguson's "The Dutchess" opens at No. 3 with 158,000 copies.

There are several major new releases this week, but Justin Timberlake holds on his success. The pop singer, who has just made a comeback to music scene, still rules the US pop album charts, with his second solo effort "FutureSex/LoveSounds," sold 217,000 units for the week ended Sunday September 24th.
After two weeks atop the Billboard 200, the Jive Records release has now sold 903,000 copies in total. On the second position of the chart is Clay Aiken, whose covers set "A Thousand Different Ways" sold 205,000 units. Stacy Ferguson's solo debut, "The Dutchess" opens at No. 3 with 142,000 copies, just one place ahead of Kenny Chesney's "Live Those Songs Again" bows at No. 4 with 137,000.

"I'm having twins! I'm not kidding!", the six-month-pregnant Krall said. "I have twins on my mother's side as well. We know (the sex) and everyone's been asking me, but we're keeping that private because we just want to have something for ourselves."

Christmas has yet come, but Sarah McLachlan has prepared all to celebrate the big day. The singer has planned to release a new album, titled "Wintersong", slated for October 17th release date.
The set, consists of 12-track CD, marks McLachlan's first new studio recording in three years. The collection features among other Diana Krall on piano for the 1965 Charlie Brown song "Christmas Time Is Here", and the Barenaked Ladies' Jim Creegan on double bass.

The popular Canadian Jazz pianist and singer, Diana Krall, is expecting. The good news was confirmed Sunday June 25th, 2006 by Krall and husband Elvis Costello's spokesman.
The baby is due in December later this year, just in time for the couple's third wedding anniversary. Good news come in two for the pair then.

Announced Wednesday Feb 15th by the CTV network and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the music group ups for Juno Fan Choice, Single Of The Year and Producer Of The Year for "Photograph", Album Of The Year and Rock Album Of The Year for "All the Right Reasons", and Group Of The Year as well.
Following close behind with five nominations are Diana Krall and Michael Buble, both of whom among others up for Artist Of The Year, Fan's Choice and Album Of The Year. Tied with three noms each are Arcade Fire, rock legend Neil Young and the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. Meanwhile, music diva Celine Dion is nominated for Fan Choice award.
