Dashboard Confessional to Drop New LP in Fall
July 09, 2008 03:07:59Alternative rock act Dashboard Confessional have just revealed more details about their upcoming studio album. Although, having yet to set the title for the new LP, the band stated to Billboard.com that the follow up to "The Shade of Poison Trees" would be dropped this fall.
Revealing the details about the upcoming record, the band's frontman Chris Carrabba told Billboard that the new LP "has a vibrance that is suited for summertime." Chris also added that the songs on the new album will sound "a bit poppy. But not in a 'pop' popular music way."

Renowned musicians are going to storm up the 2007 ALMA Awards stage and give a hell of performance. For a start, Beyonce Knowles will be there along with Prince.
In a two-hour special, the two of them are going fill in the performance slot which also boast the names such as Dashboard Confessional, Los Lonely Boys, War, Calle 13 and Billy Gibbons.
Rob Thomas & Jewel Kilcher Among "Soundstage" New Artists

PBS' "Soundstage" live concert series will begin its fifth season soon and the networks has listed several names to perform. Rob Thomas, Macy Gray, Jewel Kilcher and Dashboard Confessional would be the artists whose live performances are going to be comprised in a one hour TV special.
The first show featuring Thomas' Red Rocks gig in Denver will be broadcast on June 14. Gray's Grainger Studio show in Chicago will get its turn on July 5 while Dashboard's Madison Square Garden concert is slated for July 12 airplay. Jewel in particular will get a two-hour set, which will be aired separately on July 19 and 26. The show will feature her performance at Rialto Theatre in Joliet, Ill.

Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, both are former Blink-182 co-founders, have officially announced their newly formed band +44 on Tuesday August 29th.
+44, named after the international dialing code of Great Britain, will then have their debut album "When Your Heart Stops Beating" released via Interscope Records on November 14th later this year.

Johnny Cash's "American V: A Hundred Highways" earns the No. 1 spot on Billboard's albums chart with 88,000 copies sold in the week ended Sunday. This of course is a great attainment a set has ever reached considering the slow holiday week at retail, while also marks the late singer's No. 1 album since 1969's "At San Quentin".
What is more about "American V: A Hundred Highways", which is a collection of songs Cash recorded just before his death in 2003, the set moreover also crowned the Top Country Albums tally, knocking the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way" to No. 2 after seven weeks on top.

Grammy-winning songstress India.Arie has her third album, "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship", tops the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1 selling 161,000 copies on the week ended Sunday July 2nd, such amount that brings the singer to beat another new release on the chart, Dashboard Confessional's "Dusk and Summer" who is on the runner-up position with 134,000 in sales.
"Life & Relationship" is Arie's third album subsequent to her 2001's "Acoustic Soul" and 2002's "Voyage to India". It moreover also marks her first ever chart-topper, that's for you to note. Back then to the chart, there's last week's champ Nelly Furtado's "Loose" at No. 3 with 99,000 units sold, followed by the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way" at #4 with more than 78,000 scans.
