March 14, 2008 11:03:47Although he's been off the recording booth for his solo album, Damian Marley, the son of reggae legend Bob Marley, is still keen on promoting his contribution in 2007 compilation "Gang War". The Tuff Gong Records release features various artists where Damian contributed in the song "One Loaf of Bread (Something For You)".
A music video has been released, featuring scenes from South Africa and Haiti that were shot using 8mm. The black-and-white part of the video is the one taken in Haiti while the colorful one was taken in South Africa. The video itself was directed by Jason Goldwatch who also penned Jay-Z's "Pray".

As for Ben Harper there won't be time for relaxing in the coming days for the singer/songwriter has lots of things to do. First on his schedule, he is slated to serve as the musical guest for an entire week's worth of "Last Call With Carson Daly."
Harper will tape his performances next week in Los Angeles and will have the set aired May 2-5 on NBC. In the meantime, he also will headline an 11-date October tour of France in support of his album "Both Sides of the Gun". Kicked of on Wednesday at Jack Johnson's Kokua Festival in Hawaii, the trek will run through September 15 in Atlanta with Damian Marley about to support on the North American dates.
Carey Won Four Vibe Awards
November 14, 2005 12:11:002005 really is a golden year for Mariah Carey as her comeback album "The Emancipation of Mimi" has scored very well at the chart and spawned several hits, which for sure lead her to grab more awards. Approvingly, she was a big winner at the third annual VIBE Awards held Saturday, gloriously bringing four awards all at once.
During the event, to air Tuesday on UPN, Carey won Artist of the Year, R&B Voice of the Year, Best R&B Song for "We Belong Together" and Album of the Year for her comeback hit, "The Emancipation of Mimi." Meanwhile, music group The Diplomats was named Best Group. Rapper T.I., to add, won the Street Anthem award for "U Don't Know Me."
Marley's Never-Before-Released Singles Collection
October 18, 2005 11:10:00Years after his death, fans of reggae legend Bob Marley still have something that reminds them of him. The late singer apparently left a never-before-released song, believed to have been recorded in a Miami bedroom in 1979, which will be available on the upcoming compilation "Africa Unite: The Singles Collection."
The set, due November 8 via Island/Tuff Gong/UME, includes "Slogans," the master tape of which was discovered by Marley's sons Ziggy and Stephen in 2003. Also it will feature early recordings as well as Marley's biggest hits, which is rounded out by a new remix of the title track from the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am plus Ashley Beedle's mash-up of "Get Up, Stand Up" and Damian Marley's "Welcome to Jamrock."
Jr. Gong's New Album Released
September 14, 2005 03:09:06Damian Marley, the son of reggae icon Bob Marley, has had his new album "Welcome To Jamrock" released Tuesday, September 13th. In companion with that, the so-called "Jr. Gong" also announces a 24-city fall tour, beginning November 3rd in Saint Petersburg, Florida and culminating on December 6th in Norfolk, Virginia.
Most important than all is that Damian is donating one dollar for every ticket sold to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. All dates will go on sale the weekend of September 17th. Speaking about the album, it's been called "thrilling protest anthem" about life in Kingston, Jamaica.
