Colbie Caillat Debuts Atop Hot 200 With 'Breakthrough'
September 03, 2009 10:09:38Colbie Caillat makes her first No. 1 album on Billboard Hot 200 with her sophomore set titled "Breakthrough". Making its way out in U.S. on August 25, this record has garnered 106,000 copies in its first week on sale, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"You always hope for the best, but you never actually think it's going to happen," Colbie told Billboard concerning her achievement. "I never want to get my hopes up. Everyone kept saying, 'I think it's gonna be No. 1. It's gonna be No. 1. It looks like it,' and I just kept trying to ignore it 'cause I didn't want it to not happen. And now that it is happening, I can't believe it."
Colbie Caillat Debuts Music Video for 'Fallin' for You'
July 15, 2009 02:07:47Colbie Caillat has a new single called "Fallin' for You" and recently dropped a music video for the track. In this video, she is narrated going out to the beach with a guy who is actually not her type, but she enjoys the outing anyway.
"Fallin' for You" is a song recorded for Colbie's forthcoming second studio album "Breakthrough" which is due for August 25 U.S. release. On what the song deals with, she said during a recent interview, "[It's] about falling for a guy I was friends with. We went out on a date and I realized that there was no one else in the room. The room was silent, and I was on this high from it the next day and wrote this song."

GaGa gets nominations in such fields as Best Single for her smash hit "Poker Face", Best Hook Up for her collaboration with Colby O'Donis on single "Just Dance" and Best Album (Female Artist) for her debut effort "The Fame". On top of that, she is also among the contenders for Best Female Artist and Best Breakout Artist.

January 05, 2009 11:01:23Jason Mraz has debuted a music video in support of his new song "Lucky". In the newly-premiered video, he is shown dressing in a suit and strolling along the street, while her collaborator in the track, Colbie Caillat, is captured enjoying some splashes in the beach.
"Lucky" is a new song written by Jason himself teaming up with Colbie Caillat and Timothy Fagan. It is listed on his third major studio effort "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things", a follow-up to his sophomore LP "Mr. A-Z".

January 17, 2008 09:01:20On the vein of her highly-successful single, 'Bubbly', Colbie Caillat released another single called 'Realize' from her debut album, 'Coco'. The folk singer has now premiered the music video for the second single on MTV.
'Realize' has entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart and peaked at #104. Caillat who released 'Coco' in July 2007 has been rather slow in spawning singles after 'Bubbly', but she did release a Christmas single called 'Mistletoe' that was posted on her MySpace and was quick to receive many hits. It also peaked at #75 on Billboard Hot 100.

Combining renowned female artists with new and upcoming ones has resulted in GirlFrenzy Festival, a musical event to take place October 27 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, Irvine, California. Among those to take the stage are Avril Lavigne, Sheryl Crow and Colbie Caillat.
Fiona Apple, who is working on her fourth studio album, is also on the bill along with lesser known Sara Bareilles and Antigone Rising, concert promoters announced on Monday (August 20). This event was established by Right Arm Entertainment that has gained reputation through its Rock on the Range festival last May.
