Production of 'Sin City 2' May Start in 2010
September 24, 2009 02:09:13There is a chance that "Sin City 2" will kick off its production in 2010. The possibility has been thrown in by the star of "Sin City", Clive Owen, himself when MTV caught up with him at this year's Toronto International Film Festival while promoting his new film "The Boys Are Back".
Asked whether a sequel is indeed in the horizon, the 44-year-old quickly responded, "I'm hearing it might be next year," before adding, "I heard that from a very good source...recently." Pressed further from whom he heard the news, the leading man of "The International" coyly suggested that he may hear it from either Frank Miller or Robert Rodriguez.
'Duplicity' Goes to New York for U.S. Premiere
March 17, 2009 02:03:46Counting down days to the theatrical opening of "Duplicity" in the U.S., Universal Pictures took it to Ziegfeld Theater for the U.S. premiere for the drama thriller film. Held on Monday night, March 16, the special event was attended by some of the movie stars, including Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, Tom McCarthy, Denis O'Hare, Carrie Preston and Paul Giamatti.
Aside from posing for the press line upon their arrival, several of them made time to answer questions on the red carpet. Asked by USA Today "who would win in a battle of wits", Owen suggested that his co-star Roberts would win, saying "She would, because she's very smart." Roberts, who was wrapped in Christian Dior on the evening, could not agree more of the remark, saying "I would. It's just me. I have my tricks."
New York Sees the Premiere of 'The International'
February 10, 2009 01:02:53On Monday, February 9, a special screening for the upcoming espionage film, "The International", has been held at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City. The premiere event was attended by some of its cast members, including Clive Owen, Naomi Watts, Brian F. O'Byrne and Nilaja Sun.
Joining those stars on the red carpet was the thriller's director Tom Tykwer. Seen as well in the red carpet were many television stars, among them were "Gossip Girl" actress Amanda Setton, "Fringe" actress Jasika Nicole, "30 Rock" actress Katrina Bowden and "Law & Order" actress S. Epatha Merkerson. Beside the TV stars, R.E.M.'s lead vocalist Michael Stipe has also been spotted on the evening.
Extended 'The Chase' Clip of 'The International'

Serving as an extended version of the previously-released clip entitled "The Chase", the footage provides a look at the scene before Clive Owen and Naomi Watts chase the possible assassin of the rallying politician.
Centering its story on Interpol Agent Louis Salinger and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman, "The International" follows the two as they try to uncover the money laundering and illegal arms trading done by one of the world's most powerful banks. Following the money from Berlin to Milan to New York to Istanbul, they soon find themselves putting their lives at stakes to bring justice.
Three Fresh Clips of 'The International' Come Out

One called "It's About Control" came from MSN, another one titled "The Chase" was found through IGN, and the other one was an exclusive clip from MTV. All of the clips feature the thriller's leading man, Clive Owen, in his search for justice.
In "It's About Control", Owen and his co-star, Naomi Watts, are seen listening to a man's explanation about the real reason behind the attempt to make the world's greatest bank an exclusive broker for international arms dealing. Meanwhile, the "The Chase" clip displays the scene where the two actors run after a man and Watts ends up being hit by a car driven by the man they chased. The third clip from MTV previews the footage in which Owen walks out of a building and receives an alarming phone call.

A caper flick set in the world of big business, project will find Roberts and Owen playing a longtime lovers who happened to work as spies on opposite sides. They then decide to join forces in staging an elaborate con to rip off corporations and steal a valuable product.

L'Oreal is racist, at least that's according to the court, and thus the race discrimination groups in Kate Winslet's home town want the actress to distance herself from the company. She's being urged to stand down as spokesmodel for the cosmetics giant.
L'Oreal, the world's largest cosmetics and beauty company, was found guilty of racism in a French court and was ordered to pay a EU30,000 fine for recruitment practices that excluded non-white women from promoting its Garnier shampoo "Frutis Style".

Seems quite comfortable playing in thriller genre lately, Clive Owen has reportedly nabbed another leading role in an action thriller flick entitled "The International" set to be developed under Columbia Pictures banner.
Scheduled to start filming September this year, the picture is said to concern an Interpol agent who investigates corruption at powerful banking institutions. German filmmaker Tom Tykwer, fresh from helming "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer", is on duty to direct from script written by Eric Singer.

Becoming the latest actor to play James Bond in the super-spy series of movies is an achievement for Daniel Craig. Not only he earns public recognition and praise, but also some accolades. The latest the actor gets is that of GQ magazine's Britain's Best-Dressed Man.
"No Bond since Sean Connery has worn it better. It works because the 007 uniform seems like an upgrade of what Craig would naturally wear," writes the magazine. Craig is followed in the Best-Dressed list by David Cameron, the Leader of the Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition in the United Kingdom, who voted 2nd and film actor Clive Owen, who is 3rd.

Keeps carrying out its tradition in recognizing the top works in science fiction, fantasy, and horror in film, television, and home video, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films officially revealed yesterday, February 20, the contenders for its 2007 Saturn Awards, set to take place in Universal City on May 10.
Showing up as the leader of the pack is "Superman Returns" which amazingly gains ten nominations, five of them being in acting categories besides those of Best Fantasy Film, Best Director for Bryan Singer, Best Special Effects, Best Music, and Best Writing.
Clive Owen and Marc Abraham Re-Team for New Detective Flick

Apparently well-satisfied with their recent collaboration in "Children of Men", producer Marc Abraham and Clive Owen are re-teaming for another big screen feature based on one of Raymond Chandler's detective short stories, The Courier-Journal has learned.
While Abraham will definitely seat as the project's producer via his Strike Entertainment, Owen is likely to portray the leading character of private detective Philip Marlowe. Names to either write the script or direct have not yet been known, though.

The flick is set in a near future where mankind has lost the ability to procreate, the world is rocked by the news that the youngest person on earth -- who is 18 years old -- has died. As chaos erupts, a former radical is engaged to be the protector of the most sought after person on the planet -- the last remaining pregnant female.
In "The Children of Men" Caine will play alongside Clive Owen, Julianne Moore and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Whereas, the second one is Disney and Warner Bros.'s "The Prestige," for which he will team up with director Christopher Nolan. In this action drama film Caine will join Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, who both will play rival magicians in turn-of-the-century London who battle each other for trade secrets. The rivalry is so intense that it turns them into murderers. The title refers to the residue left after a magician's successful trick.
Chiwetel Ejiofor Joining Children of Men

Has just completed filming his latest film "The Inside Man," the actor now gets more promising offers as he's been tapped to star in director Alfonso Cuarón's "The Children of Men," as well as the Michael Almereyda-helmed indie "Tonight at Noon."
Ejiofor will first join Clive Owen and Julianne Moore in the sci-fi action drama adventure "The Children of Men," playing the leader of a radical political faction bent on controlling the future of the human race before then joining Connie Nielsen, Lauren Ambrose and Rutger Hauer in "Tonight at Noon."

Concerning his choosing Craig commented "It's something else. I'm speechless. I've just got to step up to the plate and deal with it. It was really unpredictable that both of them had beaten some other strong competitors, like Morgan Freeman, who played in Million Dollar Baby, David Carradine for Kill Bill: Vol. 2, Thomas Haden Church for Sideways and Jamie Foxx for Collateral.
In that occasion, besides giving their best thanks to Mike Nichols, the Closer director, for his deed during the film making, Owen and Portman also "boosting" their possibility in winning the upcoming Academy Awards.
