April 30, 2009 09:04:46People magazine has just unveiled its pick of Hollywood's most beautiful people, putting the name of actress Christina Applegate at the No. 1 spot. The 37-year-old movie beauty is credited for her battle with breast cancer, which she publicly acknowledged in October last year.
Making the weekly magazine's annual list of 100 Most Beautiful People in 2009, Christina admits that she used to be a shy person. "I used to be really shy but I started to come into my own in my late 20s and early 30s," she says. "Now I'm not afraid to speak up in a room full of people and be a part of the conversation."

Sharing her ordeal in a recent interview with "The Oprah Winfrey Show", she said she did it in order to have a memory of her breasts.
Recalling the day she did the nude photo shoot, which was emotional and private, she told Oprah Winfrey, "I did my first and last nudie photo shoot at home." She went on saying, "I made sure that I have close-up photographs of them from every angle, so I can kind of remember them."
List of 2008 Emmy Awards Presenters Expands

On Thursday, September 11, the Academy of Television Arts and Science has confirmed that Christina Applegate, Candice Bergen, David Boreanaz, Wayne Brady, Lauren Conrad, Jimmy Kimmel and Kiefer Sutherland will be presenting the winged woman statuettes.
"We are thrilled to announce another great group of presenters for the telecast," executive producer Ken Ehrlich commented. "I'm clear," Applegate tells ABC News' "Good Morning America". "Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. It did not spread. They got everything out, so I'm definitely not going to die from breast cancer."

Christina Applegate's Ex-Boyfriend Found Dead from an Apparent Drug Overdose
July 04, 2008 09:07:07Lee Grivas, the former boyfriend of actress Christina Applegate, was found dead in the living room of his Hollywood apartment Tuesday, July 1. His body was discovered by a neighbor and he was pronounced dead at 5:25 P.M.
An investigation is under way to find the cause of Grivas' death. And while the autopsy has not been completed, authorities said that Grivas had a history of drug abuse and that an officer found a syringe at the scene. "Grivas did have a history of drug abuse, and our investigator found a syringe at the scene," Lt. Fred Corral of the L.A. Department of Coroner said in a statement. Though so, authorities are "not making any preliminary conclusions until a toxicology report is completed."
