The show's creator Silvio Horta confirmed that they are "huge fans" of the singer and that they have had the name in mind for sometime but the attachment wasn't happening until the fourth season.
"We're huge fans of Shakira," Horta told People. "We had a very memorable moment in the third episode where Betty has a makeover that goes wrong and she struts down the street to 'Hips Don't Lie'. We've mentioned her several times over the course of the series and have always wanted to work with her. She's an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit."

October 09, 2008 04:10:55The long divorce battle of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook is over as a New York judge finalized the case last Friday, October 3. While report on that matter has just surfaced, the estranged couple was claimed to have resolved their divorce case back in July 2008.
Brinkey, who filed for divorce from Peter in September 2006 after 10 years of marriage, was granted sole custody of their two children, Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10. She, moreover, also retained all 18 properties in the Hamptons and agreed to pay Peter $2.1 million.

McCartney and Brinkley were currently seen holidaying in The Hamptons and ran into each other at the concert, during which they are said to have slow-danced and "cuddled" during the romantic song "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You," and spent most of the night together.

Christie Brinkley, a former supermodel, was recuperating Wednesday Feb 28th at a Manhattan hospital from emergency back surgery as a result of sky injury.
"Last evening (Tuesday) Christie Brinkley underwent emergency back surgery," said publicist Marcia Horowitz. Brinkley hurt her back during a family ski trip December last year in Aspen, Colo. "and (it) worsened in the past few days," Horowitz added.

The 52-year-old beauty filed for divorce in New York's Suffolk County Court earlier this week, just three months after reports mentioned her husband had an affair with Diana Bianchi, an 18-year-old he'd hired to work in his firm.
Since then on the couple became a hot commodity in Hollywood, even more after Cook published a public apology to Brinkley in a Cindy Adams gossip column, saying "This is an aberration. I'm sorry. I'm contrite. I'm stupid. Foolish. No excuse. I love my wife. ... For a lifetime I've tried to prove how much I love her."
