January 28, 2008 03:01:37The rising young actor Channing Tatum has reportedly nailed the part of Duke in Paramount Pictures' latest project. According to AICN.com, the star of dancing drama "Step Up" has been entrusted with the role of the "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" team leader.
Based on Hasbro's line of action figures, "Joe" is a live action film starring Sienna Miller, Ray Park, Marlon Wayans, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Said Taghmaoui. It tells the story of an international co-ed force of operatives who use hi-tech equipment to battle an evil organization headed by a double-crossing Scottish arms dealer 'Cobra'. The film is set to start shooting in February 2008 and slated for release on August 7, 2009.

Both popular actors of their generations, Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum will team up together as the stars of "Pinkville", a Vietnam War drama renowned filmmaker Oliver Stone is set to direct based on Mikko Alanne's script for MGM to distribute.
Stone reportedly is now closing a deal with United Artist to finance the project that could be finalized this week and so will put the picture into production by early next year, with a budget of roughly $40 million. Pic marks the fourth time the man has worked on a big screen feature set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War after "Platoon", "Heaven & Earth", and "Born on the Fourth of July."
