October 23, 2009 01:10:22Next week's episode of "Grey's Anatomy" will be born out of the creative mind of Chandra Wilson. The actress who portrays Dr. Miranda Bailey in the medical show made her directorial debut in this October 29 episode which is called "Give Peace a Chance".
When Isaac, the hospital lab tech, has an inoperable tumor wrapped around his spine, he turns to Dr. Derek Shepherd to do the impossible. Derek tests the Chief's authority when Richard objects to moving forward with the risky surgery.

Chandra Wilson aka Dr. Miranda Bailey is going to direct an episode of the medical drama this season although details surrounding this are still scarce. Wilson's directorial debut will mark the first time a star of the series takes charge behind the lens.
Creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed on her Twitter that the production of sixth season will begin next week. Meanwhile, E! Online is spilling a scoop that actually there was another actor who negotiated to direct an episode. This unnamed actor also wanted a more creative and personal freedom in the show which will alter his or her contract.

February 13, 2009 11:02:46Honoring the contribution of people of color in arts, NAACP Image Awards have handed out its trophies to variable TV shows like "Grey's Anatomy", "The Young and the Restless" and "American Idol". The biggest winner however, was "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" which scored Comedy Series, Actor, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress altogether.
Apart from nabbing the Outstanding Drama Series, "Grey's Anatomy" also took home Outstanding Actress in Drama Series through Chandra Wilson. Its spin-off "Private Practice" meanwhile, grabbed the Supporting Actor in Drama Series through Taye Diggs.

The awards show, took place Thursday, February 14 at the Shrine Auditorium, saw TBS' sitcom "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" won three top honors in the TV categories, mainly for Comedy Series, Actor in a Comedy Series for LaVan Davis, and Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Lance Gross.
CW Network's sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris" which was one of the leading award nominees with six nods, unfortunately, walked away with just one award which was for the category of Writing in a Comedy Series for Ali LeRoi. The other leading nominee "Girlfriends" which was up for six nods as well, sad to say, experienced worse fate as it won none.

Kate Walsh and Alex Young said "I do", finally. The actress and film executive exchanged vows in a fairytale ceremony Saturday September 1st at the Ojai Presbyterian Church, a few hours outside of Los Angeles.
Walsh wore a custom-made Monique Lhuillier dress, while Young wore the requisite penguin suit.

Showing its recognition on the full dedication the African Americans and other minorities have shown in entertainment field, Black Entertainment Television network once again has revealed the nominees for its BET Awards in its 7th celebration of the event. The list was announced Wednesday, May 16 by rappers T.I. and 50 Cent, Robin Thicke and Tichina Arnold during a press conference at Hollywood's Renaissance Hotel.
For those working in film field, the network rounds out celebrated names of Jamie Foxx, Idris Elba, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith, and Forest Whitaker to compete for the Best Actor title. As for the opposite category of Best Actress, the contenders include Arnold, Angela Bassett, Kerry Washington, Chandra Wilson, and Jennifer Hudson, who recently swept three prestigious film awards of Oscar, Actors, and Golden Globe.

Winners of the 38th annual NAACP Image Awards have been unveiled Friday March 2nd in an awards show hosted by rapper LL Cool J. There are five award categories and here we bring you list of winners of the Television and Special awards.
A Grammy and Tony Award nominated American R&B/Pop/theatrical singer and actress, Vanessa Williams has been bestowed the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in A Comedy for "Ugly Betty," which during the event won the Outstanding Television Comedy Series award. Winning the Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Comedy Series award, in the meantime, is Reggie Hayes for his role of attorney William Dent on the CW sitcom, "Girlfriends."

More prizes have been given to lauded titles and names in film and TV industry as the Screen Actors Guild held out the ceremony for its 13th annual SAG Awards yesterday, January 28, 2007 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.
Just like the Producers Guild of America, the labor union finally bestowed its equivalent of a best-picture award, the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture honor, to indie road movie "Little Miss Sunshine" while taking the same favor as most critics did in deeming Helen Mirren of "The Queen" and Forest Whitaker of "The Last King of Scotland" the winners in lead acting categories.
