September 08, 2008 01:09:14One of Universal Records' singers, Ryan Leslie has just released a music video in an attempt to promote his second single "Addiction", in which he has teamed up with R&B singer Cassie and rapper Fabolous. The song, which is categorized as an R&B and soul song, appears in the singer's self-titled album, which is scheduled for release on September 26.
The music video for the song is directed by Diane Martel and, as Ryan says, talks about the beauty of simplicity. "I'm not wearing a tuxedo or even a suit in the clip. Director Diane Martel assured me that this one should be all about the beauty of simplicity," he says as posted on his MySpace page.

The Danja-produced track where she collaborates with rapper Lil Wayne, is taken from her upcoming sophomore album tentatively entitled "Connecticut Fever", which has no fixed release date yet.
The music video is directed by Chris Robinson. The singer described its plot as "a series of things", where she is in the "crazy-girl stage". It is mostly about a young beautiful woman, who is feeling stressed out. She is fallen into a situation where her lover has no desire to take their relationship to a more serious level. Being fed up with all the uncertainty, at the end of the video, Cassie decides to call off her relationship and move on to find any other man who really loves her.

The single is taken from her upcoming solo album which hasn't been titled yet. The upcoming video was directed by Chris Robinson with Lil Wayne making a cameo.
Speaking about the video plot, Cassie described it as a series of things, in which she plays as a young girl who is stressed out with her love relationship. She said, "It's about the fly chick, she's going into the hotel, feeling out her situation, talking to the guy who she thinks is there, but it's really not. You have to see it. It's hard to explain."

Explaining about Wayne's involvement on the video and the single, Cassie told MTV that she's wasn't the one who should get the credit, stating that it was all P. Diddy's effort. "Puff surprised me with it. He laid the verse. I had no idea. I got on the phone and said, 'Thank you.' It's great. With how he's doing now ... he's platinum today, and he decided on his platinum day to be here with me. It's great. He's one of the best rappers out right now."

Cassie's Second Set Aimed for September 2008
April 08, 2008 01:04:48Cassie's sophomore effort, one of the long-delayed albums in Hip-Hop field, will finally hit the stores in the third quarter of 2008. Producer P. Diddy said that the not-yet-titled LP will not only be coming this September but will also "catch people off guard".
"That's going to really, really catch people off guard," Diddy told Billboard.com. He also cited that Cassie fits the market demand for younger artist, saying, "There's a huge (cry) out there for a younger Britney Spears, a younger Janet Jackson. Those two great artists have paved the way. She has a single out called 'Official Girl' and Danja produced it, and it is a smash."

February 04, 2008 09:02:26With the premiere date of "Step Up 2 the Streets" movie coming nearer, a music video from one of the soundtracks of the movie has been outed. The Cassie-sung single "Is It You?" is made the first one.
The video opens with producer Ryan Leslie playing the piano before Cassie begins singing. "Is It You?" is one of the songs in the 16-tracks CD that has not appeared in an album. Rumor has it that it would be included in Cassie's sophomore set, tentatively titled "Internity", which will be released later this year.
Cassie Puts Sophomore Album on Schedule

On the difference to her debut set, Cassie said of the new album, "I guess I grew up a lot but I'm still in essence the same person. Lots has changed in my life, stuff that has made me think about things differently. I'm more vulnerable and you can hear my vocals better this time around. With his partnering with G-III Apparel Group, which is one of the world's top manufacturer and marketers of licensed clothing brands, Diddy's Sean John line will now include clothing for women as well as men and a junior sports line. Taylor Hicks is rocketing even higher and higher in the industry, keeps reaping wining after winning from the day he was crowned season five "American Idol" champion. Has just signed his first ever recording contract, he shortly thereafter released his first single, "Do I Make You Proud", on June 13.
As many have predicted, the silver-haired Alabama native's set satisfyingly comes in at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Billboard Single Sales chart and the Billboard Pop 100 chart, making it the best selling song in the country with over 190,000 copies sold in its first week of release. What's more Hicks will perform this chart topping song on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday, June 22nd.
