Big Boi's New Track 'Ringtone' Leaked
February 06, 2009 11:02:42A brand new single entitled "Ringtone" from Big Boi has made its way around. The song has been confirmed to be one of the materials in the rapper's upcoming solo studio album "Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty".
Big Boi is yet to announce the release date for his forthcoming effort. However, tracklisting for the record has come out, confirming fourteen new songs and one bonus track. Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Andre Benjamin a.k.a Andre 3000, Ciara, Jadakiss and T.I. among others are lined up as his collaborators in the LP.
Big Boi Preparing for Solo Album
November 12, 2008 02:11:39OutKast's member Big Boi revealed that he has finished cooking up his solo studio album. "Me and 'Dre [Andre Benjamin aka Andre 3000] were on the conference call [recently]," he told MTV. "He's working on his album, my album is done. We're gonna wait until the top of the year - January or February - to put it out."
Beside gearing up for his solo effort, Big also hinted that another OutKast's record will be worked on soon. "'Dre is gonna come hit y'all, and [then] we're gonna do the Outkast album. So y'all gonna get three records from the 'Kast next year," he added.
Big Boi Drops Longtime Manager, to Join Grand Hustle
September 24, 2008 11:09:55Big Boi of OutKast reportedly decides to end his contract with Family Tree Entertainment. If the rumor were true, Big Boi will no longer be controlled by his longtime manager, Blue Williams who is also the CEO and founder of the Family Tree Group.
The gossip swirls even deeper with a claim that T.I.'s current manager, Jason Geter, has approached Big Boi and asked him to join Grand Hustle family. Unfortunately, there hasn't any words from Big Boi referring to both issues.
Big Boi's Solo Album Almost Finished

Speaking with MTV in a recent interview, Boi revealed that the new set is almost finished and also confirmed some of the tracks that will be on it.
Beside stating that his new record is almost finished, the hip-hop artist also said that he actually doesn't have any concept for the new LP. "There's no format, really, to follow once you start recording. To me, my album is like building a house. I work on all the songs at the same time. I might jump from song to song all throughout the time I'm makin' the album. I've always been like that. It just works out. Right now, we're just putting the sod in the front of the house. We almost done," Big Boi said.

New rumors surface by the hour that Big Boi plans to kick off an upcoming tour under the name of OutKast but without Andre 3000. The hip-hopper reportedly says that Andre will not be joining him on the upcoming tour.
Such report reminds us of an impending breakup of OutKast back in the public spotlight, which have surrounded the group since the release of "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below".

OutKast takes off in 2006 with two new projects all at once, the first of which happens to be a new album and the other one is a movie project. The Atlanta hip hop-duo set to hit hard the industry with the release of their highly anticipated set, titled "Idlewild", which will hit store shelves on Aug. 22.
The long-anticipated release will serve as the soundtrack for the Universal/HBO Films release of the same name, open August 25, as well. Also starring in the big-screen musical are Ving Rhames, Ben Vereen, Cicely Tyson, Patti LaBelle and Macy Gray.
Big Boi Cuts the Purple Ribbon
August 10, 2005 01:08:00Wanting to join the competition and vie his other contenders, Big Boi of OutKast ramps up the launch of his Purple Ribbon label. Marking the label's first release is a compilation from the Purple Ribbon All-Stars on October 4. That first project features the single "Kryptonite" featuring Big Boi, Killer Mike, C-Bone and Rock D.
Soon then, the label will release new albums from Killer Mike and rapper Bubba Sparxxx, which both due out in the fall. Besides, Purple Ribbon has also signed Sleepy Brown and is in the process of securing the services of veteran Southern rap act Goodie Mob.
