'Modern Family' Hires Benjamin Bratt as Gloria's Ex
October 14, 2009 11:10:05Jumping from "The Cleaner" wagon, Benjamin Bratt has landed on ABC's new comedy "Modern Family". He will be one character who has frequently been mentioned in the series but has not shown his face just yet. Bratt is none other that Gloria's ex-husband and the father of Manny Delgado.
This can only mean that Bratt's character will be in direct competition with Ed O'Neill's Jay Pritchett. In the show, Jay marries the much-younger Gloria and helps raises the only child from her previous marriage. Gloria in fact has been raving on her ex's physical abilities while Manny talks about how he admires his dad. There is no date mentioned in THR's report about the casting but Bratt is only confirmed for one episode so far.
TV Winners of 2009 ALMA Awards
September 18, 2009 01:09:03"The Cleaner" which ended its second season this week, spawned a winner at 2009 ALMA Awards on Thursday, September 17. Benjamin Bratt who plays the lead character William Banks earned the honor to be Best Actor in Drama. The actor who came to the event accompanied by model wife Talisa Soto, was on hand to receive the statuette.
In another category, Selena Gomez won her first ALMA through her portrayal as a teen wizard on "Wizards of Waverly Place". Her win is considerably an achievement since she had to battle it out with heavy competitors such as Salma Hayek from "30 Rock", America Ferrera from "Ugly Betty", and Judy Reyes from "Scrubs".

From sweeping the streets from any kind of addicts to assisting high profile individuals to do a recovery, Bratt's character William Banks will face one of his toughest challenges in the season opener.
In "Hello America", an old friend Michelle Durham seeks William's help to get her high-profile national news anchor husband Davis, clean. But the news anchor is a national spokesperson for recovery, so William has to be especially discrete in his methods. And the news anchor's wife has an illness that forces William to confront his own personal problems.

The poll is done and as the result comes to the surface, Ryan Phillippe has been on top of it, beating off competition from other Hollywood heavyweights. Ryan accordingly chosen as the first due to his devotion to his kids, and the fact that he was part of one of the film industry's "cutest couples."
At No. 2 on the poll is Will Smith, just ahead of Johnny Depp at 3rd and Brad Pitt at 4th. No. 5 is Benjamin Bratt, followed by Matthew Fox, Tom Cruise, Jude Law, Guy Ritchie, and Charlie Sheen, all of whom secures the 6th to 10th position.

The newly born child is the second for the couple who has had a daughter, Sophia Rosalinda, who will be 3 years old on Dec. 6.
The happy couple met while filming "Pinero," the story of poet-playwright-actor Miguel Pinero. Congrats anyway.
