The good news was first reported by In Touch Weekly, which already quoted an insider as saying, "Babyface is thrilled about the pending bundle of joy." The baby is due at the end of 2008, it has been claimed.

Nearing the release date of Babyface's first album under newly-relaunched Mercury records, lead single 'Fire & Rain' has gained popularity in several radio stations. The cover of James Taylor's 1969 classics is placed #2 most-added single at AC radio and #1 in most added at Smooth Jazz.
'Fire & Rain' is taken from the R&B icon's upcoming album 'Playlist', due September 18. As previously reported, the record contains mostly covers while also having new materials within the tracks. "These songs came from memories, and these songs helped shape who I am – and they’re still shaping who I am," Babyface said earlier.

R&B icon Babyface has stepped back in the music scene with a new CD. The singer will release "Playlist" on September 18 under the revived Mercury Records.
Still attached with new materials, the album will mostly contain cover songs from his favorite musicians. Among the covered tracks are James Taylor's "Fire and Rain" and "Shower People", Dan Fogelberg's "Longer", Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle", Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight", Bob Dylan's "Knocking' on Heaven's Door", Dave Loggins' "Please Come to Boston", and Bread's "Diary".

Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Tracey E. Edmonds enjoying single-hood in the eyes of the law after a judge proclaimed Friday June 22nd that their marriage was officially over.
Details of the divorce settlement were being kept under wrap, except that the couple will share custody of their sons, Brandon Edmons and Dylan Michael. Now that they're officially divorced, Babyface and Tracey insisted to still maintain their business relationship.

Bruce Springsteen received a standing ovation in the event dubbed "Celebrating the Music of Bruce Springsteen". He made a surprise appearance in the end of the show by singing "Rosalita" that immediately invited roars from the audience. They leaped from their seats and continued to cheer on him for the last 30 minutes.
Held on April 5 in Carnegie Hall, the event presented Bruce performing 3 songs, two of which are played acoustically. The rock and roll legend said in the middle of the show "The good news is...I'm not dead yet!" and then he made a tribute to blues singer Odetta who sang his classic "57 Channels (And Nothin' On)" earlier.

The 2007 Soul Train Music Awards that was held at Pasadena Civic Auditorium has revealed its winners. Co hosted by LeToya Luckett and Omarion and planned to air between March 17th and 25th, the event sadly did not attract most of the winners to come. The show went on anyway.
Winners of Best R&B Album are Jamie Foxx and Mary J. Blige. Foxx grabbed the award through his album "Unpredictable" (2005) while Blige who did not attend the ceremony won it through "The Breakthrough" (2005).

American performing right organization BMI has bestowed honors to some household names in music like Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Babyface, and L.A. Reid at its 6th annual Urban Awards held on August 30, 2006 in New York City.
Carey, taking the honor for the third time, received the title Songwriter of the Year for placing three of her hit songs from her latest album "The Emancipation of Mimi", namely "Don't Forget About Us," "Shake It Off" and "We Belong Together" on the most-performed list. The latter composition even was named Song of the Year, making the diva altogether obtain two prizes at the gala event.

Grammy-winning singer-producer Babyface filed a lawsuit Tuesday April 11th, 2006 in Superior Court against singer Anita Baker, claiming she failed to pay him more than $250,000 for a song he co-wrote, produced and performed on her 2004 album "My Everything."
Detailing on the suit, Babyface further alleged that Baker broke two oral agreements with him over the song titled "Like You Used to Do". The star first of all claimed Baker refused to pay his royalties equaling at least $100,000 from an estimated more than 500,000 albums sold.

Per the court papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the woman is seeking divorce from her husband of 13-years mainly because of irreconcilable differences.
While Tracey's attorney declined to discuss the matter, Babyface could not be reached for comment as well. In fact, the couple had previously in October last year released an announcement stating they were ending their marriage with a "permanent separation" and said they had been separated for some time. Though "We remain best friends," their statement continued.

Coming back as Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, the star says, "It means being comfortable with who you are, where you are in your life. That confidence is what makes you sexy. But there's still a certain amount of youth quality to the record." That's how he said explaining the title of his new CD, which is going to be released July 26 via J Records.
