Announcing his leaving the group, Cornell said Thursday February 15th, "Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave. I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors."

Step aside?! Rock quartet is in hurry, heading a quick return to the studio to begin preparing for an extensive fall tour of North America soon as its European festival tour ends July 10 in Dublin. "It's healthy to constantly be writing and recording music. We want to keep fresh. Everybody has been playing great on this tour, and we want to take some of that momentum while it's hot and write some songs, record and then go back on tour in the States," commented the band's guitarist Tom Morello.

Exact dates have not yet been revealed, yet it is supposed to begin September 29 and run for two months. During the project, Audioslave will treat their fans with past legacies in "Rage Against The Machine" ("Bulls on Parade," "Sleep Now in the Fire") and "Soundgarden" ("Spoonman," "Outshined," "Loud Love"). What's more, the band will also perform material from Temple Of The Dog, in which Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell was a primary contributor.

The "Out of Exile" band has once again made a great record on album's chart. Audioslave's latest album titled "Out of Exile" has become the sixth rock album in a row to debut at number one on Billboard's album chart in as many weeks. According Nielsen SoundScan, the album has been sold 263,000 copies for the week ended Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is Common with his Kanye West-produced album "Be" selling nearly 185,000 copies. Mariah's "The Emancipation of Mimi" which has been sold 179,000 copies, remains only at No. 3, while System of a Down's "Mezmerize" at four. At five is Toby Keith's "Honkytonk University," followed then by Gorillaz's second album "Demon Days" which been sold 107,000 copies to open at six.

Audioslave Rocks Cuba

The American metal band Audioslave will for sure held a free Friday night performance at La Tribune in Havana, Cuba. This gig has confirmed by the U.S. Treasury Department and Instituto Cubano de la Musica, both of which are part of a cultural exchange. At least 50,000 Cubans are expected to hear the band play.

Commenting on the play the band said in a statement "Kids are the same all over the world, and we are extremely proud and excited to bring rock 'n' roll to the youth of Cuba." Also they added "Music can transcend politics and this trip is proof of that." A portion of the gig will air simultaneously in New York City's Times Square on ABC's SuperSign.
