'American Idol' Season 8 Finale NOT the Lowest Rating
May 22, 2009 02:05:44Those saying that "American Idol" has lost its chemistry are not exactly true. After reports on the show getting the lowest-rating finale throughout the show's history with the exception of the first season, a new number has surfaced to show that the finale on May 20 was not the least-watched.
The eight season drew an estimated 28.84 million viewers, according to preliminary data from Nielsen, when Kris Allen was crowned as the new champion of "American Idol". The number, in fact, is in tie to the season 3 finale when Fantasia Barrino won over Diana DeGarmo in 2004. However, the rating is not expected to stay intact since Nielsen is also factoring on the 7 minutes overrun and the time zone differences.
Jennifer Hudson Almost Giving Up Music After Family Tragedy
May 16, 2009 10:05:12Jennifer Hudson nearly quit her singing career after finding out that her family was murdered in October 2008. Opening up the matter is her fellow "American Idol" alum, Fantasia Barrino, in an interview with Essence Magazine.
"What happened to her was such a tragic thing," Fantasia, who is Jennifer's close friend, says. "I remember her telling me that she didn't even feel like singing. (She had) a hot song and a fresh video but none of that really mattered."
'Idol' Champs Attend 'The American Idol Experience' Gala

All the competition's season winners such as David Cook, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Fantasia Barrino, Ruben Studdard and Kelly Clarkson took time out to come first hand for the gala.
The event is dubbed "The American Idol Experience", a reference to the new attraction that Disney creates for its visitors. The theme park's newest addition allow people aged 14 and above to experience how it feels like being on the stage which is made as a replica of the one in Hollywood. One can audition, get voted by live audience and come back for a finale that night. The winner will get Dream Ticket that will allow him or her to skip being in line for future audition shows.

Jennifer claimed her first victory as Outstanding New Artist, beating down Anthony Davis, Jazmine Sullivan, Leona Lewis and Estelle. "This is where we come from," she said when taking the stage to pick up the trophy. "So it's always an honor to come home and feel welcome and to feel the love. I really cherish this and appreciate it."

P. Diddy is working his way up in the fashion industry. The hip hop mogul is keen to expand his fashion line, Sean John, thus has partnered with G-III Apparel Group to launch a new women's collection, dubbed Sean John Women's collection.
With his partnering with G-III Apparel Group, which is one of the world's top manufacturer and marketers of licensed clothing brands, Diddy's Sean John line will now include clothing for women as well as men and a junior sports line. "From day to night, the new Sean John collection for women is glamorous and sexy with the style and swagger that customers have come to expect from our label," Diddy said in a statement.

Asia Nitollano follows the footstep of her father in music industry. The 18 years old just won Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll after beating fellow contenders Melissa Reyes and Chelsea Korka. She is now the seventh member of the troupe.
Although Asia has been hammered for her vocal quality and received the lowest vote of who should win the contest, the judges agreed that she is the best performer. In the final she was required to deliver her solo performance that she admitted that as 'scary'. Yet, she was confident throughout and let her daughter and family became her backup strength.

This just in. American hit TV series "American Idol" has reportedly scheduled the multi-talented Jennifer Lopez to perform on their April 11th show. Report on that matter was first brought to public by Access Hollywood who claimed to have learned on that encounter from reliable sources.
If only the report proven true, J.Lo will then follow in the footsteps of Prince, Mary J. Blige and Shakira, who have all taken to the 'American Idol' stage. Greater than that, Access Hollywood has also learned that Gwen Stefani is slated to perform on "Idol" on March 28th.

Known as the pioneer in recognizing people of color in film, television, music, and literature, the American National Association for the Advancement of Colored People revealed yesterday, January 9, names and titles included in the nominations for this year's NAACP Image Awards.
Scoring most nods were both musical drama "Dreamgirls" and comedy series "Everybody Hates Chris" as each amazingly landed eight nominations, notably that in the category of Outstanding Motion Picture for the former and that of Outstanding Comedy Series for the latter.
