Video Premiere: Aqua's 'Back to the 80's'
June 11, 2009 01:06:47Danish/Norwegian band Aqua have a new single called "Back to the 80's" and recently premiered a music video for the song. The band's vocalists, Lene Nystrom Rasted and Rene Dif, appear in the video wearing top hats and perform with the rest of the band's members on a disco-themed stage.
"Back to the 80's" is a new song planned to be included in Aqua's upcoming compilation album "Greatest Hits". The track contains lyrics which make reference to Michael Jackson. "When M&M was just a snack/and Michael Jackson's skin was black," so part of its line reads.
Twelve Animated Titles Shortlisted for 2008 Oscar
November 09, 2007 02:11:40Marking early announcement on the possible contenders for 2008 Oscar, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) revealed Thursday, November 8, 2007 that twelve pictures have been put in consideration to compete for Academy Awards' Best Animated Feature title. Three will then be selected as the final contenders by the time all categories get unveiled on January 22, 2008.
The list includes such crowd-pleaser titles such as Disney/Pixar's "Ratatouille", Sony Pictures Animation's "Surf's Up", and 20th Century Fox's "The Simpsons Movie" as well as DreamWorks Animation's "Shrek the Third" and "Bee Movie." The rest seven are "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters", "Meet the Robinsons", "Tekkonkinkreet", "TMNT", "Alvin and the Chipmunks", "Beowulf", and "Persepolis."

A group of young names cheerfully brought home a prize each on March 10, 2007 as the Young Artists Foundation finally revealed the recipients for its Young Artist Awards on the day at Empire Ballroom at the Sportsman's Lodge Hotel in Studio City, California.
For film feature categories, Emma Roberts of "Aquamarine" and Tristan Lake Leabu of "Superman Returns" delightfully received the title of Best Supporting Young Actress and Actor, respectively with Logan Lerman and Keke Palmer taking honors in the leading acting slot, the former for his role in "Hoot" while the latter one for hers in "Akeelah and the Bee."

"Failure to Launch," a romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker, scores great early on its release days. The movie amazingly takes in $24.6 million in ticket sales, debuting as the top weekend movie in the US box office. "The Shaggy Dog" in the meantime secures the 2nd position with $16 million.
Drama horror thriller "The Hills Have Eyes" is at 3rd, scores $15.5 million in ticket sales. Secures the 4th place is "16 Blocks," which takes in $7.3 million, ahead of "Madea's Family Reunion" at No. 5 which drops from the top slot with $5.8 million. Hangs at No. 6 is drama action "Eight Below" with an estimated ticket sales reaches $5.4 million.

It is the second week in a row that "Madea's Family Reunion" stays at the 1st position in the North America box office. Taking in $13 million in ticket sales, the drama comedy genre bringing its gross to $48 million. Debuted at 2nd position is "16 Blocks," which raked in $11.7 million.
Disney's adventure movie "Eight Below" is at No. 3 with $10.3 million, ahead of "Ultraviolet" at No. 4 with $9 million. "Aquamarine," a mermaid fantasy targeted at young girls, opens at No. 5 with $7.5 million, while the remake of "The Pink Panther" downs to 6th place with just $7.5 million.
