'Up in the Air' Is Champion of 2009 National Board of Review
December 04, 2009 10:12:10The winners of 2009 National Board of Review have been announced on Thursday, December 3, revealing the domination of "Up in the Air". The drama comedy becomes the big winner as it manages to grab four prizes, including Best Film award.
The film also aids George Clooney to get the Best Actor title, which he shares with "Invictus" actor Morgan Freeman. Additionally, "Up in the Air" brings recognition to its star Anna Kendrick who wins Best Supporting Actress, as well as gives Best Adapted Screenplay award for screenwriters Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner.
Celebrities Gather in L.A. for 'Up in the Air' Premiere

From the cast to crew to celebrity guests, the event welcomed them all on the red carpet to pose for the photographers as well as sign autographs for fans waiting on the sideline.
Stars coming to the premiere wore dark suits in majority, including the lead actor George Clooney who was accompanied by model girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis and mother Nina Warren. Clooney greeted the crowd, shook hands with Cheech Marin and posed with CEO of Viacom Sumner Redstone, CEO of Paramount Brad Grey and director Jason Reitman.
Anna Kendrick Describes Her Role in 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World'
November 23, 2009 04:11:10In upcoming comedy movie "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World", Anna Kendrick will be seen playing Stacey Pilgrim. Being met at the roundtable interview for another forthcoming movie "Up in the Air", the actress has been willing to explain about her role. "She's Scott [Pilgrim]'s sister. I basically just sort of judge Scott for all his life choices and tell him how to live his life which is fun, but I care about him too," she detailed.
Asked about whether or not there was cool action happened during the shooting for her part, Kendrick shared, "There's one scene. I'm at the theater where Scott fights Matthew Patel and that was really fun." She later claimed her co-star, Michael Cera, who plays Scott will be seen doing a lot of actions in the film, stating "I will tell you right now Michael Cera kicks so much ass in this movie. I mean, everybody does but the bigger shock is to see Michael doing kung fu."
List of 36th People's Choice Awards Nominees in Movie

Based on the announcement, it is revealed that vampire drama film "Twilight" and drama comedy "The Proposal" lead the pack of the nominees in movie categories with six nods each.
The two movies are among the contenders in Favorite Movie and Franchise categories. Moreover, "Twilight" and "The Proposal" lead actors, Robert Pattinson and Ryan Reynolds, share Favorite Actor nod. Kristen Stewart and Sandra Bullock, meanwhile, are up against for Favorite Actress gong. Both movie stars are also among the contenders in On-Screen Team category.
'Twilight' Actress to Receive Rising Star Award
October 14, 2009 02:10:43Palm Springs International Film Festival has chosen the next recipient of its Rising Star Award. At a private event in Beverly Hills, festival chairman Harold Matzner announced that Anna Kendrick, the actress who portrays Bella's classmate Jessica in "Twilight", will be honored with the kudo when 2010 Palm Springs International Film Festival is kicked off on January 5.
"Anna Kendrick is an extremely gifted young actress," Matzner explained. "At age 12, she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Dinah in 'High Society.' She has gone from strength to strength with each succeeding screen roll. Given her striking, multifaceted performance in 'Up in the Air,' we are delighted to present her with the Festival's Rising Star Award."
