February 06, 2008 10:02:0850th Annual Grammy Awards which is around the corner is taking shape with the addition of Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie and John Legend to its performers line-up. The February 10 event will see a duet performance by the two acts plus the first time big duet between two tenors, Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli.
According to The ShowBuzz, jazz maestro Herbie Hancock and pianist Lang Lang will also take the stage for a composition by John Mauceri. Hancock will play the piece by George Gershwin called "Rhapsody in Blue". There will also be a tribute and salute segment to rock and roll legends by Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and John Fogerty.

Mexican pop group RBD led the number of winning in 2007 Billboard Latin Music Awards with 3 counts. They took home most of the top nominations such as Tour of the Year, Latin Pop Album of the Year for "Celestial" and also Top Latin Album Artist of the Year.
Shakira who appeared this year with her best hit "Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef Jean was named Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Duet after defeating Ricky Martin's duet with La Mari and other two contenders. Hot Latin Song Artist of the Year went to Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel that beat other strong reggaeton Daddy Yankee.

Colombian pop sensation Shakira leads the nomination list for the seventh annual installment of Latin Grammy Awards with six nods. The songbird is among others nominated for the categories of Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best Short Form Music Video, all for "La Tortura".
She, additionally, also vies for Album Of The Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Album, and Best Short Form Music Video categories for "Fijación Oral, Vol. 1". Following close behind with four nominations are Guatemalan popster Ricardo Arjona, Mexican singer-songwriter Julieta Venegas and Argentinian guitarist and vocalist Gustavo Cerati.

The U.S. pop charts sees another new winner as Boston metal band Godsmack rules the race on the very top position with its latest release "IV". The set sold 211,000 copies in the week ended April 30. Meanwhile, rock quintet Taking Back Sunday's "Louder Now" bows at No.2 with 158,000 units.
Bruce Springsteen's "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions" opens at No. 3 with 149,000 copies, ahead of Avant's "Director" at No. 4 with 123,000 copies. Rihanna's sophomore Def Jam album, "A Girl Like Me" opens at No. 5 sold 115,000 copies in its first week. Country trio Rascal Flatts' "Me and My Gang" slid to No. 6 with 111,000 copies.

International superstar Andrea Bocelli is about to kick of his New York Philharmonic debut in September later this year, singing four performances of romantic arias.
The tenor will sing the likes of Verdi/Berio's "Romanza," Verdi/Mercurio's "Non taccostare allurna," Denza's "Occhi di fata," Bellini's "Malinconia, ninfa gentile" and Donaudy's "Vaghissima sembianza."

The US pop album charts Wednesday March 8th, 2006 was dominated by R&B singer Ne-Yo's debut solo release "In My Own Words" which opened at No. 1, selling 301,000 copies in the week ended March 5. Meanwhile, the soundtrack to the Disney Channel movie "High School Musical" by various artists slipped to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 128,000 copies, after one week at the top.
Sat at No. 3 was rock quintet Hawthorne Heights's "If Only You Were Lonely" which sold another 114,000 copies. Alan Jackson's "Precious Memories" was back on the Billboard 200 debuted at No. 4 with 107,000 copies, ahead of R&B singer Mary J. Blige's "The Breakthrough" which slipped one to No. 5 with 81,000 copies. Bounced from No. 14 to No. 6 is "The Legend of Johnny Cash" by Johnny Cash with another 80,000 copies.

There's a drastic change on the US album chart. Last week's frontrunner Jaheim's "Ghetto Classics" tumbles to No. 10 with 59,000 copies in its second round. Meanwhile, the No. 1 position is secured by "High School Musical" by various artists, which jumps five places from previous week position selling 101,000 copies.
Debut at No. 2 is another kid-friendly title, "Kidz Bop 9," with 98,000 copies. To bow at No. 3 is Jack Johnson's "Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George" which is sold for another 89,000 copies. Another former chart-topper, Mary J. Blige's "The Breakthrough" holds firm at No. 4 with 76,000 units, followed behind by James Blunt's "Back to Bedlam" which climbs three places to No. 5 with 72,000 copies.

This Year's Winter Olympic Games Performers

Per LiveDaily.com, Duran Duran is slated for a February 15 performance, while Houston is set for February 19, Avril Lavigne will perform on the 21st, and Kelly Clarkson to entertain on Feb 12th. Sitting on the runner up position is Mary J. Blige's "The Breakthrough," while Andrea Bocelli's "Amore" is at 3rd sold 113,000 copies.
Debut at 4th position is "Unpredictable" by Jamie Foxx, which slips one from last week's position. Meanwhile, R&B singer Heather Headley has her album "In My Mind" selling 95,000 copies to open at number five. Bocelli Aims to Score High Worldwide
January 30, 2006 11:01:29Composing a collection of romantic pop standards, Italian singer Andrea Bocelli finally is ready to spread love all over the world with his new two-version album. Set to be released in the international market is "Amore" which will come up on January 31, 2006 in U.S and February 24 in much of the rest of the world, while the all-Spanish version called "Amor" follows on March 22 for the Latin market.
Slated to be promoted through a massive TV campaign, an iTunes promotion, also partnerships with retailers in U.S, the album contains a duet track Bocelli collaborated with Christina Aguilera popularized in English as "It's Impossible" and another with Stevie Wonder on vocals and harmonica entitled "Canzoni Stonate."
