AFI's Music Video for 'Medicate' Debuted
October 05, 2009 03:10:22AFI make public a music video in companion to their new single entitled "Medicate" on Yahoo. In the Paul Minor-directed video, the band are seen rocking out in front of a large projection of their performance footage towering in the background.
"Medicate" is the first single coming from AFI's latest studio album "Crash Love". Also included as a playable track in video game "Guitar Hero 5", the song peaked at number 10 on Billboard Alternative Songs chart since making its way out in August.
AFI's 'I Am Trying' Previewed Through Behind-the-Scenes Video
September 11, 2009 04:09:18In anticipation of the release of their forthcoming effort "Crash Love", AFI give fans a sneak peek at another song off the album, "I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here". Through a video posted at MySpace, they unravel a preview to the track as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the recording process with selected fans.
In the video, the band can be seen welcoming the six chosen fans into the studio to record "I Am Trying". Prior to the recording, the rock band had asked fans to submit short videos about themselves for a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles and to sing on one of the songs from "Crash Love" which resulted in the birth of the "Begin Transmission" series.
2009 BET Awards Nominations Revealed, Lil Wayne and T.I. Lead the Pack
May 13, 2009 09:05:42Nomination recipients for this year's BET Awards have been announced at "106 & Park" on May 12, and grabbing the most nods were rappers Lil Wayne and T.I.. The two musicians received five nominations each.
Among the five gongs, Weezy and T.I. are set to face off against each other in two fields, Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Viewer's Choice. In those categories, they are joined by such contenders as Rick Ross, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Beyonce Knowles, Keri Hilson, Soulja Boy, Rihanna and T-Pain.

Soundtracks to 'Guitar Hero III' Released via Interscope

Interscope has decided to release a compilation tracks featured in 'Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock', few days after the video game hits the stores.
The CD soundtrack will be dropped October 30, while the game will take impact two days prior. Included in the compilation are the remix songs from AFI, Marilyn Manson and Flyleaf as well as in-game songs like Queen of the Stones Age's '3's & 7's ', AFI's 'Miss Murder' and Sonic Youth's 'Kool Thing'.
More Line-Ups Heading to 2007's Download Fest

The 2007 Download Festival is adding some new artists to their already attention-grabbing line-up. The Cure, Kings of Leon, AFI and Neko Case are the acts that will join previously announced Modest Mouse, Incubus, The Shins and Wolf Parade.
More detailed arrangement of line-up for each day in the festival has also been announced. Modest Mouse, Wolf Parade, Band of Horses and Case will play the first part at Boston's Tweeter Center on August 18. The next show on August 5 at Washington's Gorge Amphitheatre will be filled with Modest Mouse again and others like Incubus, The Thermals, Nada Surf and Heavenly States.

M.I.A.'s stay in the studio since early 2006 has brought a result in an album titled "Kala". The third studio album will be released by the rapper on June 26 via XL/Interscope Records.

The award season is near, and coming on its way is the 2006 Billboard Music Awards. While a host for the event has yet been announced, it has been confirmed that the likes of Gwen Stefani, Ludacris, The Fray and Mary J. Blige will perform at the awards, which will air live on Fox on December 4.

Alternative rock band Angels & Airwaves dominated the 2006 mtvU Woodie Awards, held Wednesday Oct 25th at New York's Roseland Ballroom. The band, formed by former Blink-182 star Tom DeLonge, claimed the event's top prize the Woodie of The Year (Artist of the Year) award.
Also won an honor during the award show, held to honor US college students' favorite emerging artists and music, was Plain White T's who brought home The Breaking Woodie (Best Emerging Artist) award, and Gnarls Barkley who nabbed the Left Field Woodie (Most Original Artist) award.

Giving much more highlight to fantasy drama flick "Inkheart", Helen Mirren, Andy Serkis, Rafi Gavron, and Sienna Guillory have all come down to take part in the project, joining the likes of Brendan Fraser, Paul Bettany, and Jim Broadbent in turn.
Here Mirren will play a book collector named Elinor Loredan while Serkis is billed to portray a villainous character called Capricorn. Filming is scheduled to start next month in Italy then London with Iain Softley directing based on David Lindsay-Abaire's script.

Drawing near to its unveiling on Friday, September 29 this year, the 44th Annual New York Film Festival organizers have revealed list of film features screened at the event up to its closing date on October 15, presenting a selection of pictures of either local or foreign productions.
From U.S, there will be Stephen Frears' acclaimed drama "The Queen" starring Helen Mirren which is going to be the opener of the festival also Todd Field' "Little Children" and Sofia Coppola's period piece "Marie Antoinette." Featuring great talents like Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly, "Children" sets to be shown on September 30 with "Antoinette" following up on October 13.

This year MTV Video Music Awards, held August 31st at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, saw the triumph of James Blunt as the singer nabbed the Best Male Video award for his single "You're Beautiful". In pair with him to take home the Best Female Video award was former "American Idol" Kelly Clarkson, thanks to her single "Because Of You".
Also scored an award at the 23rd annual award event was The All-American Rejects who won the Best Group Video category for "Move Along", and Chamillionaire's "Ridin'" which was chosen as the Best Rap Video. In addition to all, music act The Pussycat Dolls won the Best Dance Video award for their hit single "Buttons", while AFI's "Miss Murder" nabbed the Best Rock Video award.

Grammy-winning songbird Nelly Furtado's latest album "Loose" brings her to the peak of the album charts with the set sold for more than 100,000 copies this week in the United States. Moving 219,000 for the week ended Sunday June 25th, the Mosley Music/Geffen set earning Furtado her best single-week sales and her first No. 1 on the big chart.
What is more from the star is that the album's first single, "Promiscuous" featuring Timbaland, has peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Back to the Billboard 200, securing the runner up position is Underoath's third full-length effort, "Define the Great Line" which sold 98,000 copies in its first week. The Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way" slips from No. 2 to No. 3 with 87,000 units, and Keane's second Interscope album, "Under the Iron Sea," moved 75,000 copies in its first week to open at No. 4.

Rap star Busta Rhymes catapulted onto the top position of the US pop album charts on Wednesday June 21st, 2006 with his first No. 1 release, "The Big Bang". The star's collection, include such hit singles as "I Love My Chick" and "I Love My Bitch", debuted with 209,000 U.S. copies sold for the week ended June 18, according to Nielsen SoundScan. On top of that, "The Big Bang" also shot straight to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums tallies.
In the meantime, country trio the Dixie Chicks held steady at No. 2 with their "Taking the Long Way" sold another 130,000 copies, while remained at the top of the country albums chart for a fourth week. As for last week's best-seller, AFI's "Decemberunderground", it slipped two to No. 3 sold 104,000 copies. The other charts holdovers are "High School Musical" soundtrack at No. 4 on sales of 79,000 copies, "One X" by Three Days Grace which sold 78,000 to easily land at No. 5 on the charts.

Released on the appropriately demonic 6-6-06, the set, on the other hand, selling more than 182,000 copies in the week ended Sunday, such amount which automatically pushes aside last week's champ Dixie Chicks's "Taking the Long Way" to No. 2 with third week sales of 175,000 copies.
Come in at No. 3 is "New Joc City" by Yung Joc which debuted with 148,000 copies, followed after by Ice Cube's "Laugh Now, Cry Later" at No. 4 selling nearly 145,000 copies.
