AceShowbiz - Doja Cat is no stranger to stealing the spotlight with her fashion choices. When stepping out to the 2024 Met Gala, the "Planet Her" artist turned heads as she wore nothing but a white towel.
For the record, this year's theme for the Monday, May 6 event is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" and the dress code is "The Garden of Time." To match the theme, the 28-year-old paired her look with some diamonds.
Surprisingly, fans loved Doja's creativity. One person in particular commented underneath The Shade Room's post, "finally an outfit that most of us can afford." Another penned, "Omg girl! I'm wearing the same designer RIGHT NOW."
A third quipped, "Doja was running late and came straight out the shower. I respect the hustle and dedication." Someone else raved, "Doja is a idgaf what nobody say im confident kinda chick that why she win." A different individual then chimed in, "I love how she trolls."
Ahead of the annual event, Doja was spotted taking a stroll in New York City wearing a gown seemingly designed to look like a bed sheet. During the Sunday outing, the "Say So" songstress made a quick trip to the Cartier store with Vetements fashion designer Guram Gvasali.
Doja, born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, clutched the material to her chest while strolling down the street. She completed her look with black patent leather pumps and a black thong, the latter of which was visible in some pictures taken by paparazzi.
Doja once opened up about unique looks when speaking to Harper's Bazaar last fall. "My theory is that if someone has never met me in real life, then, subconsciously, I'm not real to them. So when people become engaged with someone they don’t even know on the internet, they kind of take ownership over that person. They think that person belongs to them in some sense," she said.
"And when that person changes drastically, there is a shock response that is almost uncontrollable," the femcee continued. "I've accepted that that's what happen. So I put my wigs on and take them off. I shave my head or my eyebrows. I have all the freedom in the world."
