AceShowbiz - Drake did not waste time to hit back at Kendrick Lamar amid their rap beef. Upon learning that his rival took aim at him with "6:16 In LA", the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker fired back at the "Like That" spitter with "Family Matters".
On Friday, May 3, the Canadian hip-hop artist released the latest diss song titled "Family Matters". On the track, he dishes out Kendrick's alleged physical abuse to his fiancee Whitney Alford. He raps, "When you put your hands on your girl is it self-defense, 'cause she's bigger than you/ Your back is up against the curb, you digging for dirt, you should be digging for proof."
Drake, who is also famous as Drizzy, continues, "Why did you move to New York? Is it 'cause your living that bachelor life?/ Proposed in 2015, but don't wanna make her your actual wife/ I'm guessing this wedding ain't happening right?/ Cause we know the girls that you actually like."
Drizzy then spits, "Your darker secrets coming to light, it's all in your face like what happened to Mike/ Oh s**t, it's all making sense, maybe I'm Prince and you actually Mike/ Michael was praying his features would change so people believe that he's actually white."
The "One Dance" hitmaker adds, "Top would make you do features for change, get on pop records and rap for the whites/ And wait, you say you brother Jermaine? But you wanted him to stay out of the light/ Oh s**t, just follow me right; 'cause nothing you saying could bother me right."
Drake dropped "Family Matters" less than one day after Kendrick threw shade at him with "6:16 In LA". On the track, K.Dot pokes fun at Drizzy for having traitors on his OVO squad. He raps, "Have you ever thought that OVO was working for me?/ Fake bully, I hate bullies/ You must be a terrible person/ Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it/ Can't Toosie Slide up out of this one, it's just gon' resurface." Later on, Drizzy reacted with a movie clip on his social media page.
